The plaster casts Freeman subsequently made were convincing enough to be considered critical pieces of evidence by anthropologists Jeff Meldrum of Idaho State University and Grover Krantz of Washington State University, who put considerable time and resources into studying them.

Of course this was years ago before Freeman’s footage- Newscasters were smug and snarky with their comments, trying to give an objective view. But always a bear, like people are so traumatized by seeing a bear they conjure up an 8 foot creature with a human-looking face to traumatize themselves even more, yeah, that makes sense?
