Non-Human DNA Found in Elongated Paracas Skulls

A DNA analysis of elongated Paracas skulls has shown that they may not be human and that they could come from an entirely new species that fits outside of the known evolutionary tree. This belief stems from a test that showed a DNA sample taken from the skulls turned out to be unlike any known human DNA. Mark Sovel and Lissette Padilla discuss the skepticism behind this test, in this clip from the Lip News.

Sorry, but this video is sensationalizing the DNA results. DNA results came back from two universities: Canada’s Lakehead University and at UCLA. The DNA is showing a lot of European descent. It’s believes that the ancestors of the Paracas people migrated from the Caucasus to the Persian Gulf, from where they sailed eastwards, eventually finding their way to the Peruvian coast.

Evidently this group practiced head binding of infants which causes the elongated skulls. This was something once practiced in Europe, especially Eastern Europe.
