My family’s Bigfoot experiences

A listener writes “Hi Wes, Love your interviews. I have a few stories from my family that are in line with what your guests are saying.

My father was born in Arkansas in 1915. He and his brothers were moonshiners. On several occasions they experienced a bigfoot coming into their camp where their still was located down by the Ouachita River.

One time they were making a pot of beef stew and something came into the camp laying trees over as it approached them. It was dark outside, and they only had their light from the camp fire, but they could see a large animal on 2 legs walking into the camp. Their horses were rearing up and their dogs ran off. They jumped on their horses and rode away. Once it was daylight they came back and all of their beef stew had been eaten. The thought it was black but hard to tell in the dark and only having light from the fire.

Another time they were staying in a cabin near that same area. They wokeup in the morning and opened the door and there stood a large auburn colored bigfoot in the front yard of that cabin. They closed the door and waited until it had gone before they left.

Another family member that had an experience was my niece. She was camping here in East Texas with a lot of family members (in April of 2014) where they used to go to ride motorcycles and 4 wheelers. One of the nights they were sleeping in the tents, my niece and her hubby and their 2 small children were in their ten and my niece was suddenly woke up by some strange noises in their camp area.

There were several tents where other family members sleeping. She got scared and put her little daughter between her and her hubby. She layed back down with her back against the back of the tent. Suddenly she felt a very large hand on her lower back. She got up and started shaking her husband to wake him and he wouldnt wake up. She looked up and saw that the top of the tent was being pressed down towards her face. She could hear a lady screaming like she was being murdered along with chatter back and forth on both sides of the camp. She called her mother in another tent and nobody could hear her for some reason. After a while it got quiet and she decided to unzip the tent and look out. Out by the fire, she saw her husbands cousin sitting in a chair by the fire with his pistol pointed at the woods. She went out and talked to him and they both had a very bad night with these creatures. When morning came, the cousin loaded up his 4 wheeler and said he will NEVER go camping again. My niece wouldn’t even tell me the story. She was so traumatized. But I got it second hand from her mother (my sister) when the got back from their trip. To this day she will not talk about it. My sister called me and said “OMG you will not believe what happened to us on the camping trip” and proceeded to tell me of their experience. That is all I know of that one, but did have something odd happen to me when I lived in the country.

My husband and I lived in the country in an area of Hunt County Texas where we had some acreage and 14 goats. One morning we got up and went out to the barn for the morning milking, we found a bloody massacre. All the heads, arms and legs had been ripped off every goat we had. No survivors. Not even 1. I WAS TRAUMATIZED! I STILL FEEL SICK THINKING ABOUT THAT PICTURE IN MY MIND. We cant understand how the barn door got opened nor who or what could have ripped off all their limbs. It crossed my mind that it could have been a bigfoot but my husband said that stupid since they do not exist. But he can deny all he wants, but something with hands opened the barn door and went in and had to have hands to rip those poor goats to pieces. it was the most horrible thing I have ever seen.

Another time, all of our cats (mama and all the babies) were rounded up and all drowned in our cattle water trough. We were scratching our heads on that one too. we didn’t think that each and everyone of them could just jump in and drown. They had their own water and food bowls. so just another weird thing that we couldn’t explain.

I believe what your guests have to say on the calls about bigfoot, because we have had these strange experiences in my family..

We had a family reunion a few years ago and my cousin on my Mom’s side of the family was there. We were talking about my father since it was the first time that my step sister that we had never met before came. My cousin (worked for Homeland Security) said he remembers my father telling him about some of the experiences that he had had in Arkansas.

I dont have enough of the details to come on your show but I thought I would share what I could remember with you.

Thanks for all you do Wes.”
