From time to time we hear vocalizations from the field and mountain range near our home but nothing like this before. We started hearing this vocal call around 2 am and we laid in bed for an hour just listening to this. Around 3 am I got up and got dressed and went out on to the back deck with my recorder. What in gods name was that, i have never in my life heard anything like that, that sound was really unnerving. I put headphones on after listening to that just through a speaker, it sounded twice as freaky with a headset, Good grief!!

Had a very human sound to it but what person does that? If there’s other weird sounds from that area than this fits in and probably point towards BF.

Same, the duration sounds more like copulation, and if it stopped for a while then carried on, all the more so. Somdisturbing tho and to me, less likely to be birth, which would follow a different set of timing, I suppose. Birth is regular pains then climactic pains then some good solid out cries, least thats what I heard in the birthing ward… And, watching pet cats first litter…

I also live in eastern Washington and have heard that noise right outside my front door! I first heard what sounded like the foot-fall of an 800lb. man running full speed from one side of my property to the other in less than 6 steps! The foot-falls started at the woodline and ended behind one of the buildings on the property. Within minutes I heard what sounded like an impossibly large cat crying AND screaming at the same time. I’ve lived in the area my entire life, practically growing up in the surrounding woods and have NEVER heard an animal make a crying/screaming noise like this. I’m positive it wasn’t a cat…whatever made these noises was large.
