Monkey and owl sounds

A listener writes ” I was listening to Dan from New Hampshire about his owl sounds and encounter. I have something I want to share with you and Dan and feel free to give Dan my email address if he would like to chat with me about this.

I have been considering reaching out to you for sometime, but I haven’t done a lot of interviews anymore, I did a podcast this year for my friend Cliff and James but anyway the reason why I am emailing you is from the Sasquatch expeditions we have been doing here for the last 22 years I often hear bits and pieces of some of our encounters we have had here.

When I heard Dan tonight taking about the owl sounds with the “yahoo” I wanted to share our similar owl sounds that ends with what sounds like monkey chatter. I was fortunate enough to be recording it when it all went down… funny thing is that we had been working this area for sometime and so these things were kind of use to us being there. It was crazy because you can hear several of them and we were surrounded by them but it was dark enough we couldn’t see them but could hear them in different spots around our camp. I will attach the audio file for you to share with Dan. I have learned that bigfoot are masters at imitation in the woods… I won’t go into anymore details with the other encounters etc. especially in a email that we have encountered..

Sorry I am rambling, anyway to get back on track.. I’ll attach the file and feel free to voice your opinion. I had a group that witnessed this event as well that were out with us when this happened. (I just shared this episode with Dan and told them to forward to 41 minutes and have a listen). I figure when Dan hears our recording he won’t think he is crazy. There are a lot of weird things that happen out there.. anyway hope you have a good evening and I really enjoy listening to your show. If you have any questions feel free to get ahold of me.”

Sounds to me like common barred owls trying to communicate, it instantly set off a few crows calling their buddies in to gang up on the owls…it would be my guess that this was recorded shortly before dark when both are active. Crows do not like owls one bit.

I live in Southeast TX and just moved out to an extremely rural area. Our first night here I thought we literally had monkeys in our trees. But like Ron S said…those are Bard Owls. I have a lot of recordings from my front deck. They can get worked up and start caterwauling and its honestly pretty scary if you didn’t know they were owls… Look up “Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?”
