Agree with Amy on her last paragraph. Also, there are certain parks and/or wildlife areas that do not allow hunting and also do not allow overnight camping that would be good. Interesting to see what one would encounter with night camping in these areas.
Initially, John. D. Rockefeller II, was thought to be hoarding purchase of lands in NW Wyoming. Later, Rockefeller donated the land which became Grand Teton National Park. Some of his current ancestors complained that JDR II put in his will that Rock family had to relinquish the last of their Tetons land about a decade ago.
Maybe I’m too much an optimist and place honor on the likes of Muir, Pinchot, T. Roosevelt and even the supposed Robber families like above. But, the Park land that has been established to-date is to be cherished with thanks to the early people that helped make it happen, including late 1800s and early 1900s landscape artists and photographers.
I wonder if it is not so much anti-Trump, but the power of the pharmaceutical industry and FDA partnership. Big pharma is somehow insulated from criticism by both political parties due to robust lobbying efforts and more importantly, significant lobby money paid to politicians of both sides of the aisles. when Hillary attempted insurance reform in the Clinton first term and Obamacare final version, why is it that somehow Big Pharma comes out smelling like a rose and stronger than their indirect competitors who Suffered such as insurance companies, hospitals and doctors? Why is it that we cannot buy drugs cheaper from Canada. Trump attempted to change that, but not sure what came in his efforts likely due to Big Pharma. The world elite such as Mr. Gates and others look to be part of this group that is concerning and which should be monitored to assure above board.
Jay from MO and IL area with sightings in SE MO, Central MO and Central IL. Kind of funny I’ve been on five BFRO expeditions in Pacific NW, but no sightings. Friend and I did have rock thrown us and soon thereafter tree limb cracked near us while sitting on a log in woods facing opposite direction on Vancouver Island. There were sightings by others on two of the five BFRO trips and activity on all but one trip.
Teresa, I am sorry for the loss of your cousin. We had a co-worker pass away from the illness and do not consider it a hoax.
This thread sure does not sound like CNN,MSNBC,ABC,NBC,CBS,NPR,CNBC, NY Times, Google, Facebook, Amazon and Washington Post, Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo, Business Insider, The Independent, HuffPost,etc. Plus you have Republican establishment like Lincoln Project and our friend FS, Scaramucci, Kasich, Romney, GWB, and others are fighting the President. To Democrats credits, they keep silent on their own frustration such as the The Squad. Is it a wonder that the President even has a chance in this election given this slanted opposition? I encourage all of you to pray for his re-election and Republicans maintaining control of the Senate or our country will be walking down a dark road.
My older cousin in his 50s related these stories when I was about 14 about the Davie skunkape. Google “Commodore Drive, Plantation, FL” and you can see location. It was one of the farther west residential subdivisions in the mid 1970s, but grown up a lot since. Everglades are still not far away and close to Holiday Isle RV Park which may still be there.
I was scared too, but still fished by self at night, with that sense of both wonder and dread that still draws me.
Hi m99, I began the sasquatch journey after hearing of th3se skunkapes from cousin who lived west of Plantation, FL who related the sightings of the creature on mobile home roofs, with one being hit by police car and plodded off and reported in newspaper. These accounts were around Davie FL and East Everglades. I had my first possible encounter as teenager fishing multiple nights for catfish west of Plantation FL and one evening I had something breathing in 7-8 foot window as I laid terrified and frozen until it left.
Dave Shealy kind if resembles a lot of us interested in subject for own reasons, but does not work out for most people. Dave related to me his most fascinating tale (think was Dave and hope ok to post). He had seen one once while bear hunting that walked away and for years searched and searched to no avail. Then, he happened to come up on a game trail that crossed most of the state and ended at restaurant on west part of Southern FL as I recall east of Naples. Anyway, he came up with idea to sleep over at this restaurant several nights and place soda cans with gravel inside on top the garbage bins, so that he could hear them rattle off to wake him up as a Bigfoot or other animal lifted the trash bin. He got his chance as he heard two trash bins opened and the soda cans rattle as hit the ground as he woke. He jumped out to look and saw a large Bigfoot creature buried in the trash bin looking for food, but then in immediate instant, jumped out and growled facing him. What was most interesting of the tale is that he felt that the intense anger focused was not so much the rage to hurt him, but that he had outsmarted it. The creature aggressively came at him and he shot his gun toward it, looked at him again in intelligent, knowing way and ran off.
