DP when on coast to coast has hinted a bit at what his thoughts are as to whats possibly one explanation of what’s behind the disappearances by alluding to geographic areas with names like “Devil’s Peak”, etc, where many disappearance have occurred. However I don’t think DP will come right out with any conclusions because, in part, the likelihood of being labeled into some category, and being ridiculed by some pretty aggressive folks who refuse to entertain the possibility of a spiritual or paranormal connection, if in fact he thinks that may play some part. He would without a doubt be attacked regardless of what he concluded, and frankly I don’t blame him for avoiding that kind of stress. Nevertheless I understand why DP maintains his position in general; he’s a professional and trying to maintain a good reputation as such. I think if DP ever did voice an opinion along the lines of the paranormal, the last people he’d have to fear being ridiculed by are many of the Native Americans, who are usually at ease with accepting paranormal connections. I for one do not believe in the ‘BF talked to me psychically’ stuff, I think it’s pretty silly, yet I believe there are more things in heaven and earth than our science can explain, and there are some out there that are obviously scared of certain things coming to light.

There is no doubt that as I listen to accounts of BF behaviors and capabilities I feel like I need to divide the list into two seperate columns, one that reflects unremarkable animal behavior and one that reflects seemingly strange capabilities that are difficult to understand when thinking of these creatures as mere animals. Granted, many species of animals possess certain capabilities that are extraordinary in relation to other animals, but that is just the way they are. However BF sometimes seems to occupy a catagory that transcends animal behavior.
I use the word ‘animal’ in the classical sense that divides man and animal; I am not one that subscribes to the belief that man is just another animal species. We possess certain traits that are unique only to man… whether they be good or bad.
I do believe, as Wes has pointed out, there are several different catagories of BF, and they display some different traits and characteristics. But it strikes me that some within the different catagories are highly unusual in their abililities. I believe there is something that sets them very much apart, and I think it’s that ‘something’ that we’re all trying to figure out.
When listening to some witness accounts I can’t help but think there that ‘something’ has on occasion been best explained by Native American peoples. Many of them have a very good understanding of both the physical and spiritual aspects of events in this world.
