If he listened to one scientist! If he listened to NASA! He simply does not have the brain power to think about what is righnon his own. The smartest folks he enlisted have left because he could not take advice.
My grandfather rebuilt the ford twice! When it was my turn, you bet I listened to his advice and got him over a couple of times to take a look. So this was Trump’s first rebuild but it seems he can’t take advice about the planet or anything else. I want to support the guy! I don’t feel good about any of the dems. I am hoping that me and grand pa can give some advice that president Pence will listen to.

In my state, for the most part, our elected officials are smart, honest and listen to their constituents. A few still get arrested for taking money illegally, but those are in the minority. Looking back at the statistics over the last 20 years, of those elected officials from my state who were convicted of crimes while in office 98% were white males, 50% democrats and 50% republicans.
Guam is a US territory and it makes sense for Guam and Puerto Rico to become states.

What started out as an interesting and at least somewhat scientific discussion about global warming on this thread has certainly devolved into a series of rants full of hatred and bigotry. Because some college students are drunken slobs, there fore all college students are … bad, stupid or dishonest? Because there are some criminals and drug lords in Mexico and other countries south of the border, all peoples from south of the border are criminals who should be kept out of this country? Are those your points Knobby?
Amy I travel to “socialist Europe” frequently. Mostly for motorcycle adventure rides, but sometimes for work. It’s a great place! People are friendly, way less crime, great food, way less gun violence and when I have had to get medical care it was top notch. Sure gas is more expensive there, but they seem to put those extra taxes to good use. The rest of Amy’s rant is just too disturbing to even touch. I bet a Bigfoot would not mind the taste of a person of color Or prefer only straight-white meat. Doesn’t that tell you that we are all the same under the skin?

So the dog is sort of mine too! Can’t play that card. Forget the horse thing because I would get stuck caring for it and mucking the stall. Hell, I get stuck with tending to our chickens too frequently as it is.

    Wolf and Knobby,
Thank you for your insights. My wife wanted me get a Prius to reduce my carbon footprint. F that, I’m getting a Vette.

Knobby, John Coleman had a degree in journalism, and no education in the sciences. He did read the weather forecast as a TV weather man for many years. Coleman also believed that climate was not affecting the polar bears, that polar bears were increasing in number and that the polar ice caps were not shrinking. These beliefs were proven wrong and Coleman was called out on it.
Climate change is not a political position solely expoused by one political party. Numerous republicans in Congress have come to accept global warming as a fact.
I am not a Democrat or a Republican. Instead I chose to make up my own mind on domestic and global issues. Many who deny global warming do so because they view it as part of a liberal or Democratic agenda and they fear being labeled as such. Let me suggest a different view. Ask yourself what is the downside to limiting pollution, greenhouse gases, and ozone depleting chemicals on a global basis? To do so does not handicap American business or agriculture.
It is beyond debate that our planet has one atmosphere, that our oxygen is produced by photosynthesis in our forests and oceans, that forests are shrinking globally, and that the oxygen productivity of our oceans is decreasing. The loss of polar ice is having a drastic affect on the food web and the bio productivity of our oceans. These are all problems that we have the power to address as a global community. We can debate how best to address these problem, but we cannot dismiss them as nonexistent or expect that our planet can always fix itself.
Put away religion and politics on this issue.

The sources relied upon and listed above, i respectfully submit are not recognized as authoritative by the scientific community as a whole nor any respected scientific journals. I do not say this simply because I disagree with their methodology (lack of acceptable and reliable support for their conclusions), but based upon what they actually admit. Take religion and politics out of the analysis and look purely at the science with respect to the last 500 years as compared to the last 200 years. Read the journal Nature and other reputable sources. Not sources that I say are reputable, sources that are recognized internationally as authoritative. TPTB is a concept that has no place in this discussion, in my opinion Wolf, because it is so broad as to be undefinable. As for the opinions of Rush, he is not a scientist, only an entertainer.

When the lady sings: “let me drown in my black lake, let me, let me, let me, “
She is singing about global warming.

I don’t understand the resistance to the proof that our impact on the planet is causing climate change? It’s understandable to be skeptical, but the idea that the world’s collective pollution can have an impact on climate is not so far fetched so as to be rejected out of hand as 100% false. We may not die of new illnesses in 50 years, but flue outbreaks will be worse as air temps get progressively warmer. If we can cure the flue in 50 years, that will be good. In New York State, where I live, the finger lakes were known as the trout capital of the world. Now, trout reproduction is not happening due to the rise in water temps.
Denise, your son is correct to be concerned. The issue is not whether all of the dire predictions eventually materialize, the issue is that we need to make lowering our carbon footprint so we leave a livable planet for generations to come. So if your son is even 25% correct, and if we might prevent future problems, it’s worth trying. We won’t miss styrofoam containers, plastic bags and plastic straws. If they can double your car’s gas mileage, why not?

Climate change is no hoax. My wife and two of my children are research scientists with phd’s. The evidence is clear and unrefutible. Please beware of junk tv show “science.”
Greta is way ahead of her years. We may disagree with the manner in which she chooses to convey her message, but the message is the truth.
