Well I wasn’t researching but I was bow hunting deer in northern saskatchewan. I had shot and killed a whitetail deer. Walked up to it and confirmed it was stone dead. I then walked to my truck to get my phone to call home for help to get it out of the woods and load him in the truck. During the call I was informed of a minor family emergency which forced me to leave the deer until morning. I hated to leave it but It was a cold night so I knew the meat was not going to be prime but still good in the morning. Shot the deer at last light and was back at first light. The deer was gone. No blood no guts no hair. No sign of predators at all. At first I thought for sure coyotes or a bear or cougar dragged it off but there were NO drag marks at all if any Predator took that deer the very tall grass surrounding the thin game trail would have been flattened. This place is remote. There was no human in there that night I guarantee it. I searched high and low for that deer. That deer had been picked up and carried away down the game trail! Any of the four legged predators just can’t do that! And I don’t know of any guy that can sling a 250lb ungutted northern sask buck over his shoulder and carry it out close to 1/2 mile to the road. I was baffled but didn’t even think squatch until months later It dawned on me that’s about the only thing the could have taken that deer
