Early 70’s, went on extended vacay from Yosemite, up thru Oregon/Washington/Canada..
as far as Jasper/Banff. Had some odd sounds at several camping spots.Early 2000’s living in Oregon, had odd experiences around a home we rented, which
culminated in seeing what was probably causing most of it…not sure what it was, but it sure fit the description.Jan

Amazon prices are ridiculous as well…best to buy direct from the above site(s) and avoid the greed monsters.

July 20, 2015 at 10:51 am #33975Janet BParticipantI do indeed Gabriel….having been an outdoor type all my life, the very idea of the totally phlegmatic attitudes I had to being out in the wild, now terrify me in hindsight. Back in the 70’s when we spent, as a family, a great deal of time in National/State parks/forests…letting our kids pretty much run willy nilly to explore…I marvel that we never, fortunately, encountered trouble. We did have a couple of odd things happen, but thankfully, the family stayed intact.
Yosemite was a particular fave, as we lived in Southern California, and it was relatively close…GAWD!!!…if I’d known then, what I know now, thanks to Dave’s efforts, I doubt we’d have gone within a hundred miles of the place!
BTW, if you weren’t aware, Dave will be on Coast to Coast tonight.
I must win the bloody lottery…so that Dave will have all the funding for the movie he needs! 🙂
I have always appreciated how easy he is to reach, and his prompt answers to questions.
Thanks again Gabriel, for being such a supporter, and for the lovely tribute you made to Dave.

July 19, 2015 at 4:30 pm #33908Janet BParticipantHi Melanie,
Can’t wait to see anthro/paleoanthro turned on it’s head…it will be waaaay past time!
Back before the flood, when I was studying paleoanth…we were taught…hybridization amongst any of our, “fossil”, predecessors was impossible…simply just didn’t happen, largely because those, “predecessors”,
all formed this nice long conga line…each going extinct at just about the time the next link in the chain came along…how convenient. Now, we’re finally beginning to understand that hybridization did occur…and can occur, producing fertile offspring much oftener than was previously understood. Also, with better dating procedures becoming available we’ve begun to discover that very often, if not most often, there were several different hominids, “in our line of descent”, running around at the same times and places.
Being another red-head in the crowd…kinda interesting to think of carrying even 2 to 5% of their DNA…but, I only need look at my eldest son’s brow-ridge
and certainly lends some credence to the idea! 🙂Jan B.
July 19, 2015 at 4:20 pm #33905Janet BParticipantGabriel, that was beautifully said…I’m sure Dave would be touched.
I’ve donated, and will donate further…I know they’re offering shirts, etc.,
for those who donate above a certain level…but I’m seriously thinking of asking Dave to use my entire donation FOR the movie…and I’ll by my own T-shirt when
it opens in Corvallis, Or! 🙂I think Gabriel has hit the nail on the head…Dave has really put himself on the line to by the, “face”, for this effort…and for all his efforts, there are the trolls that seek to turn his work into nothing…can’t allow that to happen.

July 19, 2015 at 3:09 pm #33900Janet BParticipantHello again Pam,
I would believe that you’ve probably mentioned it already..but, just in case…don’t forget the water needed for your 4 leggeds…leashes to hand, and a supply of kibble laid by (easier to manage than canned food)…even crates if you’ve
got some that are skittish. A 25 pound dog will need almost 3 cups of water per day…a 10 to 15 pound cat, around a cup and a half. Thanks for all the info Pam…much appreciated.

July 19, 2015 at 2:58 pm #33898Janet BParticipantYou are so right Pam! It’s hard to get folks to take the repercussions of that large a magnitude quake. After Fukushima, I made up a 4 page listing of things to do, before, during and after, for the mfg. home park I live in…largely occupied by the elderly….tried passing them out door to door, and very few were interested.
Our park has NO plan for the eventuality, and when I asked the park manager, he just said…”well, I guess everyone will be on their own”! Sheesh!
It’s an event that is GOING to happen, the only question is when…and those prepared will certainly have an easier time of it than those that have decided to play ostrich.
Thanks for doing what you could..takes folks like you to make a community.

a believer, having had a number of, “things”, happen whilst living here. Have
6 children, 2 grands, an adorable French Bulldog and a super smart Schipperke. An avid follower of Dave Paulides, and the late Lloyd Pye…at least as far as
his thinking about hominoids (Sasquatch and relatives).Love this group, and wish to express my genuine thanks to Wes for all the hard
work he’s done to make this a growing and informative site!Jan B
