ParticipantI posted that 9 days ago I had heard he had passed at that time but turns out he was jus very ill at the time. No I can’t predict the future at the time it was rumor and I wish it still were. John was an awesome guy who was so passionate that he didn’t care what people thought about his reputation. I wish more scientist were like him and open to the idea. RIP John you will be missed by many. You now will know all the truths you were seeking as you can look from above and see all now!

ParticipantAll,
Technology is part of science but it’s a tool that is used in natural science rather then a science in itself in regards to natural science (environmental, biology, geology, and so on). I feel where the big disconnect in the research of Sasquatch is the bridge between an armature field researcher and professional science. I haven’t met an individual that works in professional science that is also a boots on ground researcher. I am not saying they don’t exist but just have t met them. Most individuals in academia or instance Jeff Meldrum don’t really conduct hard purposeful field work. Because of this disconnect I feel credance isn’t always given to the progressive nature of the subject. While amateur researchers are doing most of the work in the subject I feel professionals in environmental science, natural resources, wildlife management, and biology need to become more involved.

ParticipantGumshoguy,
Overall he was very informative he does say before some of those hypothetical answers such as population size and range that it is his opinion and thoughts and knows that not everyone will agree. He did mention that the social structure of younger Sasquatch may be different until they get there own established area. I tend to think like yourself when it comes to social groups but I find his range comments interesting, not that they couldn’t be in other places.

ParticipantHe made the comment that travel funds from academia has all but dried up I heard somewhere that he gets paid on average 2000.00 to do a talk. That is not confirmed I’m not sure if he gets travel pay or not

ParticipantCharles,
I will track you down when I get there. Any knowledge of the venue size? I worked in Indianapolis for 2 years but now live in Lafayette. In my time in Indy I never heard of this venue.

ParticipantCharles,
I have also purchased tickets as well I have a group of people going all of whom have done at least a little field research on the creature. We are super pumped to see the exhibit and hear him talk.
