A listener writes “I had a sighting in the second week of july, 2018, on the Sheep river in south central Alberta. There are two videos on youtube of sightings in this area over the last couple of years, and the locations were very similar to the area I had my sighting. All were in river valleys close to the water.

I was along for the ride taking a couple of dogs to the vet in Black Diamond Alberta. We were in a station wagon with the two dogs in the back. One of the dogs is a bit nippy so I was sitting sideways in the rear seat, so I could put my arm into the rear to calm and pet the dogs.

Black Diamond is a small town in the foothills of the Rockies. Rolling grasslands with intermittent patches of trees on the hills and river banks. The next small town of Turner Valley is very close on the highway so the speed limit is low.

The river travels parallel to the road in Black Diamond then takes a 90 degree turn south, away from the road between the two towns. Every time we drive there I have always made a point of looking up the beautiful river valley. I use to think I would love to live in Turner Valley, now not so much. Lol On the way there I looked up the valley and it was normal. On the return trip because I was sitting sideways in the back seat I was now facing looking south out the rear driver’s side window and saw something shocking a short way up the valley. It was a bright partly cloudy day, the river water is light green with areas of white water.

Here the river rocks are all light tan coloured round cobbles so the whole scene is a very brightly lit with light colours. Standing in the river a short way from the western shore I see a MASSIVE blacker than black humanoid figure. We were not driving fast, so I saw it for several seconds. I should add here I have a lifetime of training in observation as an artist. ) I did not see it move so I assumed it was standing in the river hand fishing like you will see herons doing out on the coast. The body looked like the “patty” type, massive heavy upper body, no neck, and cone shape to the back of the head. I saw it in profile from it’s left side.

It was standing knee deep in the water, slightly bent forward at the waist, with the butt protruding, no breasts or big belly, just strait up and down bulky body like “patty”, looking down into the water with the arms at the side. It was about 1 1/2” high at arms length. I noticed that it’s profile looked similar to the patty film, in that it was not possible to see the nose profile because the facile hair made the face look flat.The first thing I thought was holy shit, holy shit, did I just see what I think I saw? Next I thought that thing must be absolutely massive to still look so big from that far away.

Then it struck me how absolutely black it was. It looked as if someone took a picture of a bright sunny summer scene of a river, cut a silhouette out of the middle and covered the hole from behind with a piece of black paper. It was impossible to see any detail due to the black void like appearance. The whole outline was fury sharp until it came to the back of the cone shaped head, which was pointing almost strait up. There the blackness appeared to gradually fade as if the hair on the back of it’s head was sticking strait out. I think people who say they want to see a sasquatch have not got a clue as to what they are in for.”
