I wanted to share a recording of possible vocalizations my daughter captured a couple of weeks ago in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. To protect her privacy, I won’t share the exact location, but she gave me permission to send this to you to get your thoughts. She and her husband heard these screams and howls near dusk, which set off their dogs and others in the area.
Before moving to Louisiana, she and her husband lived on a farm outside of Fouke. A couple of years ago, while staying at a nearby Airbnb, my wife and I heard whoops coming from two different directions, strange growling, and noticed unusual behavior from the neighbors dogs.
I’ve attached the audio file and would love to hear what you think.

Maybe someone with a sound system techno background can pull that vocal out and enhance it so we can hear it better. Im not sure what that is but sounds far off in the distance. Its kind of a wailing sound. It kind of starts low then lengthens to a high pitch before dropping off again. Hope it’s not a whistle on some kind of natural gas or steam apparatus. But if it were something like that one would think you would hear it often. Not sure what that is. It’s not like there are Elk in Louisiana.

I had a hard time hearing the scream, however the dogs were alerted to something. Sorry I could not make it out.
