Listen: Missouri Scream

This is the Missouri Scream I played on the show that Randy and I discussed. Randy writes “For the last couple of years I have recorded vocals that I call the Missouri Scream. These are usually recorded with recorder setups left in the woods. Earlier this month we lucky enough to be able to hear it in person. It was interesting and eerie all at the same time”

Listen: Missouri Scream

YouTube Description:

For the last couple of years I have recorded vocals that I call the Missouri Scream. These are usually recorded with recorder setups left in the woods. Earlier this month we lucky enough to be able to hear it in person. It was interesting and eerie all at the same time.

Interesting, but more information would be helpful.
What kind of recorder and microphone were used? If audio filters were applied, what was used?
Also Missouri is rather large – where (or at least which county?)

How do we know that they aren’t just trying to pass off a recording from somewhere else in the country? To get echoes like this it had to be in a river bottom or in the ozarks.

These sounds are real. They are exactly like the Clipper Mills sound on Youtube that run for about 14 minutes, and they are creepy. Who cares what kind of recorder they are using. I have coyotes in a draw near where I live and when a train goes by they sound off. No, you are not hearing coyotes. Picky, Picky, Picky.
