Listen: Interesting Sounds Captured

YouTuber Grassman58 writes ” was contacted by Paul Graves a few weeks ago. He wanted to help us clean up the audio and test the Hz range of our howls. The Hz range of these howls are between 640 – 700 Hz. These sounds were recorded last year. First howl is from Lake Ellen and the other is from Little Twin Lakes. The Little Twin Lakes howl that we thought was one long howl turned out to be 4 different howls mixed together. A special thanks to Paul Graves for his help and his work on these sounds. Can’t thank you enough.”

By the title, Interesting is an understatement, I agree with the ladies, the people recording this must have been experiencing several emotions from “is this real” to complete awe to outright fear! But they hung in there and recorded it. Is there any follow-up discussion on these recordings from the individuals that recorded the sounds?

    Totally awesome sounds!

It sounded to me like two to three or more individuals in synchronized calling at times…

Later it sounded like they were moving off.

I could have swore that I also heard a bill elk bugle between calls…

I wonder if this was a hunting party using sound to herd animals.

What size of lungs must those creeps have to be so loud. Sounds like the Clipper Mills, Ca. recordings. I guess there are times when frogs have the advantage over humans. Ha.
