Like someone talking but you couldn’t understand the words

A listener writes “Back during the summer of i believe 1982 we had some “problems” in East TN. I remember a muggy summer night during which my family was awakened by the most unusual sounds imaginable.

My mom & I opened the bathroom window & listened as the creepiest sounds emanated from the field behind our house. I’m not even sure how to describe these sounds. It started like a panther’s scream but in between the screams were these sounds that was like somebody talking but you couldn’t understand the words. It was like gibberish but in a very deep voice.

Dogs in our neighborhood went nuts soon we heard the voices of our neighbors as they seemed to come out of their homes and were discussing what was happening. We called the sheriff’s office but they seemed to blow us off saying that they had receive call but there was nothing to worry about. My father at the time worked 2nd shift & came home at about 3 am. We told him what was going on.

He acted very guarded which was unusual for dad. He sent us to bed and that was to be that. Within a couple of days we heard on our local news about a horse being killed on the other side of the ridge from our house. We live in close proximity to the Cherokee National Forest. There’s been strange reports from there. I’m just wondering if you know of anything from our area that has happened recently.”

I would bet there are some good stories related to the Cherokee National Park. It just sounds Squatchy. The Cherokee is one of the only Indian Nations that don’t refer to them as Cannibals. “Hairy Savage” is the name compared to many other names of Giant, burnt hair or Cannibal, demon or something to that effect.

The po-po don’t wanna touch no bigfoot! “Nothing to worry about, go back to bed!”

“He acted very guarded which was unusual for dad.”…Seems like Dad knew a little something, maybe?

That’s a new level of fear, I think, when you realize that even the police don’t want to mess with this thing, and Dad ain’t talkin.
