I bumped into Les on the trail in the Sierras. Absolutely a kind guy. I don’t realize who he was at first. I asked, “How do you like those gators?” He instantly started giving me a Masters Class on gators. He said the gators he was wearing had saved him when he was trapped in the worst snow storm of his life, about eight miles up the trail, from where we were standing. I then realize who I was talking with and my tongue became completely tied. Les had to go because his friends were waiting. I shook his hand and thanked him. A week later I was trapped in a snow storm at the same place Les said he had been trapped. Thanks Les! I didn’t feel so bad knowing I was keeping good company!
