A witness contacted me from Texas and growing up they would hear strange sounds around their property at night. The witnesses grandmother always said it was La Llorona, the weeping woman. The witness said he was pretty sure it was Sasquatch because it would also roar like a lion as well as throw rocks at the house.

It is said that since European settlers arrived in the Americas, many people believed that something sinister roamed their rivers. The sound of what seemed to be a wailing woman would be heard drifting up from the water’s edge. Since at least the turn of the twentieth century, the figure at the centre of this legend has been called “la llorona”, which means “the weeping woman” in Spanish.
