It would of had to have been over 7 feet

Toby S. shared his encounter on the Facebook page and he writes “My first encounter with Bigfoot was in 1988 I was living on the eastern edge of Pinckneyville Illinois about 25 yards from the Beaucoup Creek.

My back yard was right on the wood line that was a down slope to the creek. I was sitting at the kitchen table around midnight messing with a tattoo gun. It was summer so I had the windows open, the windows faced the wood line that was only about 30 feet away. I started smelling a funky odor that smelled like old mud from the bottom of the creek. Then I noticed something out the corner of my eye look down into the top of the window.

The hair on my body stood on end but I stayed still and acted as I wasn’t alarmed. I calmly got up and went to the living room and got my rifle. I went out the side door and made my way around back, but saw nothing. I heard something huge rushing away through the woods. I pretended to go back in but his in the darkness watching and listening. After 20 or 30 seconds I couldn’t hear what ever was in the woods crashing around anymore and didn’t notice the smell.

To look into the top of the window it would had to have been over 7 feet. Back then I never thought to go looking for tracks, but later that week a few sightings were reported in Murphysboro Illinois which is 18 miles south. They started calling it the big muddy monster. The Beaucoup runs into the big muddy. I can’t guarantee it was Bigfoot but I would bet money it was. My guess is he heard the tattoo gun and got nosy.

All right, someone with guts and the presence of mind to arm himself before investigating…I lived a while in Northern Illinois and was in the middle of possible BF land, luckily there were thousands of acres of corn growing there so they never bothered any one or any of my moms horses…
