It was kneeling, crouching or sitting, and it was eye level with my 86 suburban

I want to thank the listener for sending me this encounter she had.

“I have two boys who I raised in Ruidoso Nm. We camped hiked and would go fishing but my ex husband and I were not raised around these outdoor activities. We lived in a village where these things were easily accessed and we enjoyed them.  I’m bringing up this point because we all are/were oblivious to any abnormal activity in the mountains such as sounds, because we wouldn’t know what was what anyhow. Especially as a young adult I was naive to my surroundings. I knew nothing of Bigfoot encounters nor was I suspicious of anything.

So here is what I remember of my encounter.
I was driving home at about 1:30 in the morning. I think it was October and about 2004. I pulled up to a little winding road that I would h head downhill and crossing a creek by the canyon then leads up to the main road. But when I got to the one lane road, a huge pile of hay was on the road. I was so confused. I had an 86 suburban and I pulled right up to this pile of hay that was in front of a large dumpster and pretty much occupying the whole lane. In my 86 suburban this pile of hay was taller than my hood. I pulled all the way up to it. It was straw like and teepeed. Although very wide it was like a pile of hay more narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.

This pile of hay turned and made eye contact with me. I was so close and yet I really can’t remember any features of the face except that all I could see was eyes. I froze.  What I thought was a pile of hay is a grizzly bear. A grizzly bear that in that moment I thought he was going to make a fist and slam the hood of my truck. I guess I saw anger in its eyes and that’s what I imagined would happen next but instead he looked away irritated, stood up and walk into the forest.

I can’t remember the physique. I think I was so terrified I didn’t watch him walk away. So this grizzly(in my mind at the time it was a grizzly)was kneeling, crouching or sitting, and it was eye level with me in my 86 suburban. Then it stood up and it doubled it seemed like. Being so naive I got home and was blown away by the huge bear I just saw that looked like hay and stood up and walk away. I retold my experience to my ex and some friends. I remember how they would just look at me so confused and just move on to something else in conversation or the only other response was we don’t have grizzly bear here in Nm. I never really brought it up again because I felt so ridiculous the first time I told anyone. If the opportunity arose, I might consider being hypnotized to recall his features. I just think I was so scared, I’m the type to pull the covers over my head and ignore whatever until the morning. So I think I may have just ignored or suppressed details of the encounter because it made no sense to me.”

My husband and I Bigfoot often between Ruidoso and Cloudcroft. They live on Mescalero Indian Reservation and roam the forest in Otero County. We are bigfooting this week in this area. When I was eight years old seen a large male less than 1 mile downtown Cloudcroft.

Speaking of bigfooting. Are there any well seasomed, safety first groups that scout the Willow Creek, Humboldt, Ca area that you can go out with? I do not want to go out w just my hubby, even w weapons and even though I wanted to trek to Big Thicket and Bob and Mo, bit too far to get anyone else to commit. I’m serious. If someone knows a group, please let me know! Thanks! I’m the one that will rent the biggest Winnebago w anti tip bars!!! Lol!

I owned some vacant property that was 4 miles from Cloudcroft, NM, for many years and it backed against National Forest off Hwy 82. The National Forest it back against went all the way to Ruidoso. I lived in flats 14 miles down the mountain. My son and I would go up couple times a year to clean the weeds near the road. Every time I went up there I felt like I was being watched. We would see tee-pee like structures and we would always ask each other if someone been up here. I finally had to sell it, because it made us both on uneasy.
