It was about 9 feet tall

A listener writes “I was in the Adirondacks last spring late at night and saw something I can’t explain. It was very brief and I am not sure it would be worth your time or if I even saw what I think I saw.

My friend John, is a big fan of your blog and he has encouraged me to contact you and share my story. I have documented it in a sort of story format, but the details to location, time, and events as they took place are very accurate. Let me know if it is something you would like to read or if we could talk on the phone at some point.

Again, I don’t know if it would even be an interest to you because it was a very brief encounter and I can’t be certain what I saw. That being said, whatever I did see, was standing on two legs, walking upright, smelled, and it was about 9 feet tall.

I haven’t shared the story with too many people because my sister and brother in law laughed at me, a couple of people say I saw a bear, and a couple of people genuinely claim I saw a Sasquatch. I am not a believer in this sort of stuff, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it came to pass that it was proven that this species exists.

Anyway, please feel free to email me back. I can email you the story or I could give you guys a call. Mostly, I would be interested to hear what you think about my very strange encounter.”

Maybe you saw a big bear with a fur coat on that got away from the circus or someones home (as a pet). Or maybe it was a smelly, powerful killing machine waiting to rip your head off eat and pick your bones clean. Who knows. Thanx for your encounter.

Wes, this is totally off topic, but if you ever need a co-host, please hire Duke. Wes I love what you bring and you are number 1 in my book. But damn, Duke is awesome. I have occasionally heard “Nite Callers” radio podcasts. The mother and daughter combo is cool, but the other night with Duke blew them away. The mother who is the main host was practically begging for Duke to come back! It was radio gold. They seemed to be in awe of his encounters and thoughts on the different types of sasquatch. Too bad the show didn’t go any longer, because I was hoping Duke would touch upon mountain giants. Sorry for the ramble, but I had to say how impressed I was with that show. Anyway, thanks for everything you do Wes, and take care.

I’ve lived in the Adirondacks near Lake George my whole life. There are many documented sightings up here. The best known ones are in the Whitehall area, which boarders on VT.
A few years ago 2 police officers who were cruising around on their shif had one run right out right in front of them. I met these guys, and still, years later they were adamant as to what they saw. They also said they will never be the same.
This area is the ideal location for Sasquatch! It’s heavily wooded with many mountains, valleys, lakes, creeks, etc. The lower Adirondacks are rolling fields (like Ireland) a ton of cow farms, and wildlife. It’s a stunningly beautiful area, four hours north of NYC. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THEY ARE HERE!

I live in the Syracuse area of upstate NY i dont know who else does here but for 20 yrs I’ve been playing in the Adk range it would not surprise me one bit. There are 6 MILLION acres of mountains, the high peaks area alone has 43 summits. It is the largest state park in the country and 85 percent of the access is through foot traffic only….that being said even if it isn’t a show or a part of one the story may well be worth the read.
The ADK has every habit/eco-system except desert ,seaside and tropic I think many would be very surprised if they ever got of the couch and went there….
If possible please post the story. Thanks Wes
