A listener writes “I had a encounter when I was about 10 to 12 years old. It was the late 80’s or early 90’s. I had a older half brother that was in the army and had been in desert storm.

While he was there he found a night scope he had gotten from Iraq. It was a very early version of night vision. It looked like a very large scope you would mount on a rifle. He brought it home and asked my dad to keep it for him till he got out of the military. So me and my twin brother would play with it now and then. We were camping out one night in our back yard and we lived in the city but my dad owned 18 acres so we had a very big yard. We were camping out on a trampoline with my older sister, her friend, and one of my twin brothers friends. We were just goofing off and passing the night scope around and playing with it. I had the night scope and was looking around and I noticed what looked like a very large man hanging from a tree about 100 yards down a hill and by a real marshy part of the yard. I looked at it three or four times and I couldn’t see it in great detail but it was obviously something there. When I heard the name Bigfoot back then I thought of the monster truck.

I never thought of anything about a large creature. But that night after about the third look it’s like I knew that’s what it was but I couldn’t believe it was real. My mind just wouldn’t believe it. So I looked at my older sister and said I am not trying to scare you but use the nightscope and look down at the tree and see what you see. I told all of them it looked like a a large man either hanging from the tree or standing up holding on to the tree branch. My sister took the scope and looked and all of a sudden handed the scope back to me and told all of us to run. They all ran inside and told my parents. I stayed outside but stood close to the door and took another look. I don’t remember seeing it again.

My parents came out and just said it was my imagination and my sister wasn’t confident in what she saw and like I said at that point I didn’t know Bigfoot could possibly be real. I ask my sister years later if she remembers it and she does but doesn’t remember seeing anything. I looked 4 or five times because I couldn’t believe my eyes and every time I saw the same thing. When I first started listening to Bigfoot stories and researching I heard a couple stories of Bigfoot’s watching kids on trampolines and it reminded me of what I saw and made me feel a lot more confident in what I saw.

We moved to the country a couple years later and had things happen at that house that I never connected to Bigfoot but now it’s the only thing that makes sense. And now I have built a new house out in the country on the river and I’ve only been there two weeks but have heard and see things that are very odd and makes me wonder if some are close.
