It just stared at me

A listener writes “When I was in the 4th-5th grade I was living in Southern California where I was born and lived until I was 14-15 years old then my family moved to Oregon in 1973.

Anyway we moved around a lot when I was a kid but I recall one place we lived which was on Sycamore road. The home had orange orchards behind or home and across the street with lemon orchards grapefruit trees and avocado trees. My brothers and I played late at night often throwing rotten oranges at each other and playing hide and go seek. We were not afraid of anything as a kid.

Any way I recall one night I was sleeping with my mom and I woke up and was looking out the window which had a screen on it, gazing out to the stars. I don’t know what made me look but I was looking toward the back of the house my moms window faced the driveway and garage. As I was looking toward the back of our home I watched what I thought was a large man walk out from behind our home right to the window I was looking out of.

I recall how this person walked which seemed to glide. It was weird really strange. This “person” was all black no clothes on with red glowing eyes. It just stared at me and then I reached down to wake up my mom and I looked up it was gone. There was no smell or anything. My brothers and I use to think the house was haunted. I only told a few people over the years on my experience because they would think I was crazy but I know what I saw. How this thing walked was weird like I said it glided like as if not touching the ground. That is how it seemed anyway. Just wanted to put that out. I know a few months ago a few others talked about red glowing eyes.”

These window stories are so scary to me because you are in your home, not out squatching. My house has windows high off the ground so I always feel safe and the low windows on the porch bother me ever since I heard a coyote so loud it had to be on the porch. These stories creep me out so I am afraid to look out the windows at night!
