A listener writes “I had a encounter in 2020 in October. Me an my wife were coming back from visiting my family in southern California. We are now living in central California near Porterville CA.
It was late at night around 11:50pm I was driving on the freeway that connects Bakersfield to Porterville (99fwy). I was making great time going about 70 mph until I go stuck behind a trailer, so slowed down to 60. I saw in the near distance what looked to be a large coyote on it’s haunches on the roadside, the big rigs light s where about to pass him so I turned on my high beams to get a better look at the “coyote”. When they came on I saw that it was very thick and big and it jumped on to the road and it stood up on two feet and started to run down the side of the semi , I was going about 60mph and it took a step in front of my car and jumped over it and landed about 15ft in a ditch on the side of the road. This thing was big it was thick and had a coyote or wolf head on it. I got goosebumps all over my body, my wife and kids where with me.
My wife didn’t see it because she was distracted with my kids in the back seat but when she saw me she said I was as white as a ghost. And immediately asked what was wrong. I asked her if she saw that she said no. The encounter lasted less the 30 second s but I got a good enough look at the thing and the way it ran, and how big it was. The thing that makes me believe it wasn’t a person was how quick and fluid it moved and how it was able to jump up in the air and run along side cars without it being scared.
About a year before this happened my dad was coming up to visit me and him and my mom saw what they both described as a sasquatch crossing the (same highway I was on) highway in a similar way that the dogman did to me.
My dad was a no nonsense former Marine and was sure what he saw. I didn’t know these things could be around my area until your recent guest who had a encounter in central California at the king’s county national forest wich is only about 45 min drive from where I live. I have been debating whether to tell you about this encounter just because it’s a very strange thing I seen but I just feel comfortable enough to share it now. Thank you Wes.”

Thank you for your Dad’s military service, Sir. I believe you in the affirm. In 1994, traveling on hwy 50, east of Placerville, I witnessed something I can’t explain, it shouldn’t exist, but it did then. Sir, In Fresno there is a group of guys, Paranormal Central ( Jeff Gonzalez) he investigates your type of encounters. Wes, Thank you for this great platform, Sir.

Wow, this is an amazing encounter. Thanks for sharing! I lived and currently have family who still reside in Porterville CA. There have been sightings in those areas and the Tule natives speak of them as well ! Thanks for sharing
