Interesting dashcam video

I want to thank Laura M. for posting this. It is interesting, if you watch till the very end you get an idea of what the police officer saw. The video is still pixelated but it is interesting the officers reaction.

I’ve watched this video over and over for the past year (lol). It is a very compelling piece of evidence!

First, it seems that the police officers are very genuine in their reaction, so if it was an attempt to fool someone, they were unaware of the prearranged scheme.

Second, if you watch closely at the end (after saturation, lightening, and broadcast quality), you can see that the subject is very large and crosses the road in only four to five steps. On average (in the U.S.), the absolute minimum width for a 2 lane road is app. 20 ft., and if you include the shoulders (each 4 ft.), then the width is 28 ft. The average stride length for a human male is 2.5 ft. and 2.2 ft. for females; therefore, crossing the width of the road would take 11.2 strides and 12.7 strides respectively.

I suppose Shaquille O’Neal could wear a large costume while crossing a southern country road, but then he would run the risk of receiving a bullet wound or possible arrest. Of course, this is just my opinion.

The officer went back to the surrounding hones the next day and questioned two college students who admitted to the hoax a week later. This story is old news and was debunked quite awhile ago. If someone admits to hoaxing the incident it may as well not have happened l, anything else is pure speculation and conjecture and is pointless.

Here, here. And talk about some patient ( and balls of steel ) guys just waiting all night for that one police car to come down the road. I could see trying to hoax me when I worked in Baltimore as a police- hell- there were ALWAYS police cars everywhere ( alas, no dash cams).
I wonder about the whole hoax thing- are they hoax in the hoax? How better to muddy the waters. Kind of like the guy who painted a picture of himself looking in the mirror, and in that mirror is a guy who painted a picture of himself looking in the mirror………infinity and beyond!!!!!!?????

I question the “college student story” as well. We all know gov. officials are told to never talk about the suspicious incident. So if something was captured on video, and lives possibly threatened, of course they would have an alternate story. If the evidence was captured by gov. employees, the citizens have no idea what to believe! If it was hoax by two college kids living nearby, then they did an excellent job, yet did so risking their own stupid lives.

I would like to know the opinions of other SasChron. members who have experience as police officers, sheriff’s, etc.

I know someone admitted to hoaxing this, but the length of stride, the fact that it cleared the barrier so effortlessly and the speed it crossed the road. It looks so real. It makes me wonder if the students weren’t just ‘owning up’ to the hoax for attention, or maybe there were no students, just another cover up.

    Waylon
The police SAID 2 young men admitted it and there was a picture. No one has ever come forward and the pic hasn’t been seen.
Also, it was said that these guys had done it to several other cars.
Granted, just because witness’s and photos are not on the internet, doesn’t mean it’s not true.

I know the story of the hoax, but you have to be pretty damn stupid to go in front of a car at night with no room for error. Dang vid is just not clear enough. Also it looks pretty dang fast and athletic to accomplish in a gorilla suit. Jacquline O says it crossed in 4 to 5 steps. If someone could slow motion this part of the clip, very last one we might have a better answer.

Also regarding tho hoax and if someone knows please let me know. Did these police officers or anyone else ever produce the kids and the suit that pranked it. Or did the kids come forward and produce the suit themselves in a youtube etc.

Or were these police officers given this story to pass along, especially since Finding Bigfoot used it in their 1 or 2 episode ever.

I just find the officers demeanor about this whole thing very telling. The female said after they stopped, words in effect that made it seem the subject was swaying back and forth and then disappeared, which we all know is agitated bigfoot and ape behavior, not human so much.

I agree, the “swaying back and forth” part is very interesting as well. The female did say she could “see” it swaying back and forth. You would need cojones of steel and a brain of mush to purposely do this while a curious, frightened, and well-armed police officer shines a flashlight in your direction. If this is a hoax, I believe these kids should at the very least be considered for the Darwin Award!

We all are aware that powerful people in our government do NOT want us to know about Sasquatch. So ANY story is going to be a hoax. Period. Somehow. Someway all the videos and pictures and encounters are HOAXED. Because that is the way our government wants it. WE know better and I’m surprised at people here who accept the video as a hoax because we KNOW the truth.

I agree, Charles! The swaying back and forth was very telling to me. I can’t imagine a kid in an ape suit standing there swaying in front of 2 armed cops. That makes no sense. I think it more likely that when the PTB found out that the dashcam video got out, they had to quash the story and conveniently went with a college kid prank.

Kind of reminds me of all the time and money that went into “debunking” the Gable film. All that work, but Monster Quest never convincingly recreated a man in a guille suit moving with the speed and agility of the creature. However, because it was on TV and because Monster Quest says it was all an elaborate hoax, it must be a hoax!

A hoax makes no sense here. Officials simply wanted to squelch the story, so a highly unlikely story about anonymous “college students” from a conveniently unnamed college was invented.
Even the wildest and most improbable tale of a college hoax is easier to believe for most people than a poor quality video of a real creature.

  9. Jan W

That is a good idea, Thomas W. However, I imagine the officer has been advised to stick with the hoax story and wouldn’t be able to say anything different, assuming it was not a hoax. I doubt we will ever know much more.
