Helga’s account is interesting and the video footage is fascinating. That part of LI has a rich history of UFO sightings and from what I remember hearing there are or were alleged underwater bases some distance off the north shore of LI. My mother’s family (her mothers family) vacationed on Hen Island in the 1910s until the early 1940s and she had stories of lights in the sky and something “crashing” into Long Island Sound which would have been in the early 1930s. It was followed by a large wind storm and heavy surf – was at night. She was in a canoe with relatives rowing around part of the island at the time and it was in summer at dusk when they saw the lights crash into the sound followed not long after by high surf and winds. It was so bad the families on the island had to go to the shore with lanterns to help them get back so they would not drift off shore. This was when Hen Island was a summer vacation spot and quite nice.
