I was totally shocked when I saw the deer up the tree

I want to thank Sarah for sending me this article. “A PAIR of mutilated roe deer have been discovered in Monklands with horrific, graphic injuries.

One of the tragic animals was found in woodland near Shawhead a few weeks ago and the other in a field in the Carnbroe area on Monday.

Both grisly discoveries were spotted by the same, sickened Shawhead man while out enjoying an afternoon stroll.

Speaking about his first gruesome find the man, who asked not to be named, told the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser: “I was just out for a walk in the woodland when I noticed some human footsteps in the snow and a lot of blood.

“At first I thought a person had been attacked – there were marks in the snow as if something had been dragged along the ground.

“I was totally shocked when I saw the deer up the tree – it’s such a cruel thing to do. It doesn’t really make any sense because if it had been hunted then surely they would’ve taken it away with them.

“The injuries were really horrible. Its throat had been cut, there was blood everywhere and its stomach was down on the ground.

“It must’ve been cut right open. It’s really terrible what some people do.

“Why it had been put all the way up the tree I just do not know.

“I called the community police and they came back out the following evening to take the deer down from the tree and I went along to help them.”

And earlier this week, the same man spotted another dead deer. He explained: “I was out walking with my metal detector, it was around quarter to five in the afternoon when I found it lying lifeless in a field.

“It had been viciously attacked – there were quite clear puncture marks in its neck and its head had been totally twisted around the wrong way – it was awful to see.

“It looked as though a dog had maybe gotten to it but I just wonder why the body was left like that. It was a really shocking sight.

“That’s two I’ve found recently and it’s important that people in the community know this is happening.

“I remember a few years back there were a lot of deer being killed in this area and I hope this isn’t something similar.”

Since the first deer was dead I wonder why it would put it in a tree. Could it be a warning to human beings or perhaps a way to keep it from other preditors for the future. ???

A lot of predators that are able to climb, “Especially Big Cats” will store any leftovers from their kill up in a tree. This very effectively cuts down on the number of species able to pilfer their stash.
However Let me make it perfectly clear that I am not saying a big cat was responsible !!! I am merely pointing out that this behavior is not unheard of, and giving a possible explanation for why it was done.

This is Scotland right? And they didn’t elaborate on the human tracks they saw just “I noticed some human footsteps in the snow and a lot of blood.” so we don’t know if they were large or even barefoot. Unfortunately it sounds like some cruel person getting kicks killing things.

i told you all, i have had deer run at me while blasting a stereo in my truck while sharpening a chain saw, run across the river and lie down 50 ft away…open mouth pant. I bounced rocks off of the deer and it didn’t flinch, i told you months ago. for some reason wes thinks my tales are too outlandish, my health is terminal

Stupid dirty apes or whatever. Makes me want to get an automatic elephant gun inside an army tank and go hunting. Those poor deer. The fear they must of had. No living thing should have to go through that. j.v.

I’m just wondering if there’s any BF/Dogman reports from the past in this area if it is Scotland? It’s not outside the possibility of people doing this. The deer in the tree is difficult to do especially for one person. It’d be interesting to know how high it was hanging. The other thing that I don’t get is the tracks in the snow. That’s a dead giveaway to who or what did it. I’m not leaning cryptid until I heard more details.

I’m sure the deer was just running from a predator and in the confusion jumped a little to high and got stuck in the tree. Maybe a bear or bobcat dragged it up the tree.
