I saw the balls of light

A listener writes “For six months, we were living on the top of a mountain that had recently been cut back and turned into subdivisions for tourist sales. Across the road, on these one-acre square lots, there was a crew sleeping in a small trailer while working on a house. We were the only fully built house up there. So otherwise it was pretty much a ghost town. And Beyond the development was full jungle going all the way back.

One night, when we were sitting in the front room, both Julia and I saw these blue balls of light, about the size of a cantaloupe, high in the treetops. They were kind of light blue. And definitely not fireflies. They were far away and we could still see them clearly.

It was a bitch to get down off the top of this mountain. The nearest little Tico grocery store was like a 35-minute drive. So, generally speaking, I never saw these workers leave except on Sundays.

Later that night, I was lying in bed looking out the window, and again I saw these blue lights. But this time, they were lower, coming down from the treetops toward the area where these men had their trailer.

On the front side of the trailer, they had two bright spotlights that were pretty much always on and illuminated the outdoor kitchen. They were high easily 10 feet off the ground.

At this point, it was about 2:15 AM. These blue lights came down toward the ground and then went out.

Maybe 45 seconds later, something passed from left to right out of the forest in front of those lights. I momentarily watched the first one and then the second one get blocked out.

About three minutes later, all of the lights in the trailer turned on, and the three guys quickly got into their Honda Civic and drove out of there faster than I had ever seen that car move, because the road was super rough. They didn’t come back for three or four days. And when they did come back they were having a big argument with somebody who I guess was the foreman or the owner. And two days afterwards they cut back all of the trees several meters from the trailer. And moved it out closer to where the road first comes into the property.

Anyway, I was listening to the recent episode about the Brown’s property, and you were talking about the lights. It made me think about that experience and want to send you a quick hello and say I hope you’re well.”
