A listener writes “Not sure if you’d like to hear this story, but if so I’d be happy to share it with you. About a year and a half ago my dog (English bulldog) which for the most part doesn’t chase animals took off after something which I didn’t see.

He ran straight into some brush and I heard a small scuffle or maybe just some rustling in the brush where he took off into. Very soon after I smelt a smell of burning plastic or something like that and my dog came out from behind my shed and walked towards the center of my driveway. As he walked by the shed and into the driveway I noticed this small being poking its head out and staring at me from behind my shed.

It was quite small I’m guessing as I could only see from its shoulders on up. If I was to guess I would say it only would have been 2 feet tall. It was staring at me and I could see it’s long fingers rolled around the corner of my shed. It had no hair that I could tell and it seemed like it was greyish in color but it was hard to tell the exact skin tone as it was dusk when this took place. It stared at me and I could see the rods in its eyes reflecting off the back of its retina from the spot light on the walkway. It saw me staring at it and it moved backwards behind the shed at a speed that was just simply amazing and baffling at the same time. It moved backwards so fast I’ll always be amazed at the speed at which it did so because it just made no sense. It was holding on to the edge of the shed and if it moved out towards the driveway at that speed it would at least make more sense because that’s how I would understand muscles to work.

Kind of like how a crocodile has muscles which allow it to slam its mouth shut but has very small muscles to open it’s mouth. Its muscles just aren’t built to slam its mouth open. Anyway, this creature looked every bit like a primate from what I was able to see of it, but I live in Connecticut and there are no primates in this state besides humans. So I have no clue what it was that I saw but I could describe it better if you’d like. There’s more to the story with things like the smell and that same smell returning like 2 weeks later where my neighbor smelled it and thought I was having a fire and burning “plastic or Garbage” I wasn’t home when this took place. He had called me and when I told him I wasn’t home and that I wasn’t having a fire he didn’t believe me. I left where I was and came home to find him in my yard looking to see if I was lying and there was a fire, and when I got near him he said sorry for going in my yard but he was sure the burning plastic was coming from my house.
