“I Killed Bigfoot” Discussion

I spoke with Tony Merkel who is the host of The Confessionals Podcast.

Tony spoke to a witness who claims he shot and killed a Sasquatch. He said that he has had these creatures on his property for a long time and felt threatened when the incident occurred.

On Saturday when the show is released the witness talks about what happened after he shot the creature and how was warned not to do it again.

Wow, I don’t ever want to be in that man’s position. I certainly won’t judge or second guess him but what a crappy hand he was dealt. When they are that close and closing and being aggressive I believe it’s just like a grizzly.

Sounds like a great interview. When I used to hunt I would sometimes rattle deer horns, and would think about a Sasquatch coming in to check me out. They were probably already watching me, and laughing to themselves! If one would of walked up to me, and acted like it wanted to harm me I would of shot it. Back then I would of called the Game Wardens, because I wouldn’t know what to do. That guy should go back to see if there’s anything left of it!

That was such a scary thing to happen, he sounds lucky to be alive if the stories are true they are rarely alone others could of been coming for him. I bet there are a lot more hunters that have shot Bigfoot than we will ever know.

I believe he is talking about a 3 inch long turkey choke tube.. And they fit 2 3/4, 3, and 3.5 inch….. Just saying.. the turkey choke tube he is talking about is made for that model remington….

    Hi Brian,
His terminology is actually correct for a Remington 1187 turkey gun. The extra long (3in) choke tube screwed into the muzzle is not uncommon for turkey hunting. Nor is the 3.5 inch chamber.
I thought you might be interested, it does sound odd, no offence meant.

OK that area of Ohio is good hunting and very pretty.
I got 100 bucks says that guy is getting a visit from the feds for sure. Within a week a couple of white suburban will come down his driveway.
Sounds like the exact story as the Iowa turkey hunter who called one in. He had a 10ga but did not pull the trigger.
That 3.5 inch round at that distance with that choke would turn a person’s head to mush. I would have done the same thing. I don’t want trouble from one but if it won’t back down well it’s gotta go.

BTW for you non bird hunters. More 12ga gun’s/barrels are being chambered for 3.5 inches. Lots of special turkey guns or add on extra barrels.
    I have a Moss berg 935 that has a 3.5 inch chamber.
I also have a Remington 1187 waterfowl special with 3.5 inch chamber.

If you were a serious turkey hunter you would shoot a special gun with say a jelly head choke.
And the combo of that shell…special copper or tungsten shot buffering which helps keep the shot string very tight thus a diner plate wall of hurt.
It’s made to blow the turkeys head off.
