A listener writes “I’ve only spoke of my encounter I had back in 2011 with my best friend and I was apprehensive at that. I was scouting a hunting area in the state forest of Allegan county here in Michigan;
I decided to follow a game trail that led through some very heavy cover, while maneuvering through the brush I pushed something out of there. It sounded like a tank barreling through the brush but I didn’t see anything. I just figured I had booted up a few deer that were bedded down as it was the middle of the day. I pushed further through the brush and came out to a hardwood area and picked up the game trail again. The trail brought me to the base of a small ridge and led up over the top. While traversing up the small ridge about halfway up in some soft ground I noticed the front half of a barefooted foot print; the only thing that popped in my head was what the heck is someone walking out here in their bare feet for?
I continued to follow the game trail up the ridge and followed it to the left along the top of the ridge; after walking about 5 yards along the top of the ridge I heard this loud deep throated growl, I was basically paralyzed with freight and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. It seemed like I stood there for 10 minutes but probably only a few seconds; i reluctantly turned around to see what I was gonna have to face off with but there was nothing there, I know what I heard and it was a really deep growl. I’m a big game hunter here in Michigan and have seen bears, mountain lions, and bobcats in the wild; the growl these animals make was nothing like this, I never heard anything like it before. I never saw what it was so I cannot say it was a Sasquatch but a few years later I was listening to some Sasquatch sounds on YouTube and I heard the exact same growl; once again the hair on my neck stood on end, it was the exact same growl I heard that day. Another experience I had was back in the fall of 2000 in the Fulton state game area here in Michigan; I was deer hunting the area and noticed this stick structure built on the edge of some woods and a field, the structure looked like a dome hut.
I climbed inside of it and sat there for a bit; I thought maybe someone built it like a deer blind, fast forward a few years when I happened to be watching the tv show monster quest. The episode I was watching was about the Ohio grass man; there was a structure on the show just like the one I found, I drove back to the game area to see if the structure was still there but the field had been plowed and corn was planted. I didn’t see any sign of the structure. One thing about both incidences was that there was absolutely no sign of other animals around; no birds chirping, no squirrels running around, just dead calm and quiet. On the BFRO sight there is a report from the Fulton state game area where the person reported having contact with Sasquatch for many years in the area. There have also been reports of sightings in the Allegan Forest. I know my encounter isn’t as grand as your normal ones but I just wanted to tell my story; I listen to your podcast and love it, I would have never believed there were so many people out there that have had sightings and encounters.”

I second all that! But, I’ve never had a bad experience picking blackberries in the South. Just getting scratched up. They’d get as big as your thumb. So good. Yep, isn’t he? Thanks Wes.

Even New Zealand has them. The Maori call them “The hairy man of the forest.” I saw one when I was 7, looking in my window, had nightmares about it for 40 yrs. Asked my brother 2 mths ago, all 3 of my brothers also saw it looking in their window. We’d never told anyone… Golden brown, short thick hair, all over it’s face.
