“For the Record” with Bob Gimlin

Russel Acord and Bob Gimlin went live on Facebook today. In case you missed it, Bob Gimlin addresses writing the forward to Matthew Johnson’s book.

    Wes, I love the podcast, happy to be a member. However, enough of Bob Gimlin. No offense to the guy, but his story has been told a million times. His relationship with Roger Patterson, how Patterson tried to make money off of it, how this and that, blah blah blah. Just stop it already. Let’s move on from him. Just put a moratorium on anything having to do with him. I know I will get a lot of flak from other members, but enough already. Sorry for the rant, and sorry if I ticked anyone off.

      I keep posting stuff about Bob because the 50th year anniversary of the PG film is coming up and also to irritate you. I don’t want see you spoiled Bal….lol

      First off that footage is the foundation for BF research today. For your information there is still information that is being attained from that video. I just listened to Dr. Meldrum talk for almost two hours at a BF conference about that video and the new things they are to this day still learning about Patty. If you don’t want to listen or watch a video with Bob than don’t but he’s a big reason we’re all here and that includes you Bal G. You may not want to hear from Bob anymore but I assure the rest of us still do.

    Can somewhat understand your point but it is the 50th anniversary of the filming at Bluff Creek so be prepared for more Bob in the coming months!!!

    The best version of how that famous footage came to be , I listened to here and it was told by Bob , I do not recall if it was a previously recorded or if Wes did it ? ( It was very in depth about the trips , events and days leading up to the famous footage ) . It will probably always be told and referred to since no one seems to be able to get or release decent photos or footage . Get used to it . Get us better footage to look at . There are clearer photos taken in Ontario when this couple opened their cabin in the spring and had a Sasquatch pay them a visit . Those photos taken in Ontario ( if not hoaxed ) are clear focused images of one of these creatures . That seems to be a big point of skeptics argument against the Sasquatch is why we do not have more photos , video or physical evidence. This creates a favorable argument for naysayers . We have learned a lot about Sasquatch from that video evidence being studied . One of the things I love from that evidence is the size . When I look at the video or images from it the length and swinging motion of the arms , the breasts , the hernia bulge but most of all the size of the thighs, calves and ankles . Look at the size of those body parts and compare it to the branches from the deadfall trees laying on the sandbar . Huge girth ! not human . Those calves and ankles , mammoth in size !
    The Patti film and story will always be a go to item when telling the Bigfoot Story , embrace it .

    Russ and Bob, very nice way to address the situation. Appreciate the clarification on the books foreword, and it also clarifies a lot about Matt Johnson. Thanks!

    To have done this to Bob, who was trying to do a nice thing for him is despicable and truly shows his character.
    Some will say it’s splitting hairs and that Bob opened himself to this but I guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot MJ would sue!
    All doubt about MJ and his veracity, manipulation and misdirection abilities, have been confirmed,for me.
    Shame, shame on you Matt Johnson.

    Dr. Johnson posted this response on facebook which he alleges is a letter written by Kevin B. Jones who was the third party at the breakfast with Bob Gimlin and Dr. Johnson.

    Matthew A Johnson Ref Bob GIMLIN’s Forward to Dr. Mathew Johnson’s Book:

    After a long absence, I’m rejoining Facebook temporarily because it has been brought to my attention that a rumor has been started (BTW – the word RUMOR is synonymous with the word lie and is used by people who lack the moral courage to confront the author of the LIE with the truth that the author of the lie is a LIAR) So for you, Jeff, let me re-phrase. A lie has been started about the FORWARD attributed to Bob Gimlin in Dr Johnson’s new book. Last year, Mr. Gimlin and I were ask by Dr. Johnson to pen forwards to his upcoming book. At Dr. Johnson’s request I arranged a lunch meeting between the three of us at Shari’s Restaurant in Yakima where Dr Johnson updated Mr. Gimlin and I on his experiences, and what he would be revealing in his book and at his upcoming conference. Both Mr. Gimlin and I agreed to submit to Dr. Johnson’s request.

    I personally, and if you get the chance to speak to Mr. Gimlin, feel free to get his confirmation on the matter, I personally assisted Mr. Gimlin in preparing his submission, by driving the 60 some odd miles to meet him in Yakima, assist with the draft, drive back home to input his draft into my computer, printed it out, drove back to Yakima to have him review and approve, and after a few suggested changes, was ask by Mr. Gimlin if I would please make the changes and get the submission back to Dr. Johnson in time to facilitate his publication deadline.

    Lies need to be nipped in the budd at the earliest opportunity. I will respond to questions reference this matter, and the matter of Mr. Gimlin’s absence from the conference. And I give my permission, if Dr. Johnson will agree, for my post to to be released beyond the limits of this forum.

    Evidently things were added to the forward where Dr. Johnson made statements as if Bob Gimlin stated them endorsing Dr. J’s beliefs that in truth Bob Gimlin did not state nor agree with. Someone needs to contact Kevin B. Jones to affirm that Bob Gimlin saw the entire foreword beforehand as it was published in Dr. Johnson’s book and that there were no changes/additions.

    This statement by Mr. Jones claims he met with Bob and gathered oral statements from him before going home and typing he draft. He says he then drove back to meet with Bob Gimlin to give him the draft for Bob to make any changes he wanted and for Bob Gimlin to then deliver the forward to Dr. Johnson.

    Did Kevin B. Jones actually write all this? And if he did, that means Mr. Jones was not privy to the final forward Bob would have submitted to Dr. Johnson, and he therefore can’t attest to the forward as it appears in the book to what was submitted to Dr. Johnson.

    But something doesn’t jive with all this. Beginning at the 7:10 mark Bob Gimlin states, “I just want everybody to know that I did not write the forward to the book. I did not know all that was in the forward, and I didn’t really know what all the forward was; I never read the forward; I just agreed to honor the forward.”

    So, something is not right. Someone needs to submit this to Kevin B. Jones to see if he really did create a new facebook account and reply to another facebook page with this or if Dr. Johnson created the account and wrote this himself.
