One of my surprise guests for the Christmas Show is going to be Dr. John Bindernagel. I love having Dr. Bindernagel on the show. I spoke to him today and he wanted to share some of his recent research but John also said “The fans of Sasquatch Chronicles have some of the best questions I have ever been asked. Please ask your audience to feel free to ask questions and I will try to address them.”
Post your questions below:
Dr. Bindernagel is a wildlife biologist who has sought evidence for Bigfoot since 1963. He published a book in 1998 entitled North America’s Great Ape: the Sasquatch.
Bindernagel grew up in Ontario, attended the University of Guelph, and received a PhD in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. We reviewed the top fishing rods for spinning, surf fishing, baitcasting, trolling, and saltwater. We also explained the significance of casting & rod length, power, action, frame & materials, rod guides & rings. View TOP-rated types of fishing reels at FishReeler.com – Check our top recommended brands as well. Take a look at how to choose the best spinning reel for your rod. They say that a fisherman is only as good as his rod. With that in mind, Fishreeler set out to find the greatest rods on the market. Check types of fishing reels at FishReeler.com. He moved to British Columbia in 1975. largely because the region was a hot spot for Bigfoot sightings. Over the years, he has collected casts of tracks that he believes belongs to Bigfoot He also claims to have heard the creature near Comox Lake in 1992, comparing its whooping sound to that of a chimpanzee. Bindernagel believes that the Bigfoot phenomena should receive more attention from serious scientists, but has remarked, “The evidence doesn’t get scrutinized objectively. We can’t bring the evidence to our colleagues because it’s perceived as tabloid.”

Awesome! I am stoked for the show. I’m sure some of the more educated and curious listeners will have some great questions for Mr. Bindernagel. Thanks again for your show.

Sounds like it will be another excellent show. Will look forward to listening!

I know this is not his field of expertise, but Dr Meldrum, but does or has Dr Bendernagel Identified sub sets, or types, like those that have been proposed by others. ie Type 1 type 2, etc. Has there been foot print evidence that there are some separation of the Sasquatch of the NW to the swamp apes, or boogers, or dogmen?? Has he concluded or even if conjecture, that there are sub species of Sasquatch?

Question for Dr. B.
What is his opinion of the Todd Standing ng Discovering Bigfoot film?
Michael D
Good one Pam
My question is How does a Sasquatch survive in the extreme cold without fur? Many sightings report loose, patchy hair, not fur…..how can they regulate themselves to not lose heat when skin is exposed 24/7. Is there any equivalent species in nature to compare to?
Thanks Wes and Dr B,
Merry Christmas all!
Knobby
Bindernagle can answer, but I’ve read they grow longer hair in the winter, and also in the Adjacent Worlds videos something about an undercoat. Humans hair gets thicker in the winter and sheds much less than in the warmer months.

Could you ask if he feels that a foot having a mid-tarsal break, with flexibility, could be what allows these creatures to run quadripedally and/or “spider-walk” on finger and for tips so easily, as often reported?
Thanks!
Mark T
… spider-walk on tips of fingers and toes…
Sorry for the typo.

I have way too many questions for Dr B, so I’ll ask a few and let you guys decide: 1) Do you have any theories on the reported differences in appearance (facial features, head shape, body structure, etc) of Sasquatch by various witnesses? 2) Do you find any correlations with other species to account for the extremely large individuals that are sometimes reported? 3) How do you think it will happen when Sasquatch is finally accepted by the scientific community?
Thank you so much for your continued commitment to bringing the attention of the scientific community to this compelling mystery. You, Dr. Bindernagel are a true inspiration! And you’re no slouch either, Wes. This little show of yours could be instrumental in changing the hearts and minds of witnesses and skeptics worldwide, providing the environment of acceptance necessary to allow scientific inquiry to take place. So many thanks to you to sir!

Does he have any insight into why the government may be covering up the existence of Sasquatch? I believe Sasquatch are closer to our homes then we know getting into garbage bins etc does he agree? If not what is his assessment of where they live?
Tedd
I wonder what the good doctor thinks about the different “races” of Sasquatch and if it is related to place of origin or long term habitat. Also I have to wonder if he has taken serious the historic and many modern encounters of bipedal canine cryptids and their close relationship with Sasquatch.
Thanks Wes and all who have shared with us and may you all have a fortunate year ahead!

Knobby
Considering sasquatch facial features, foot morphology, bipedalism, and their general physic, does Dr. Bindernagle consider they may be a species of man?
Christopher N
Building off of Knobby’s question, I would like to know if Dr. Bindernagel believes that Sasquatch is likely part of the human family, where in the fossil record would it fit? Paranthropus? Australopithecus? Homo? Ardipithecus?
Sid N
I’d like to know if Dr. B’s idea of what Sasquatch is has changed since he referred to them as “North America’s Great Ape” in the title of his book. Does he still believe they are a type of great ape? Thank you.
Tedd
I am not sure if this question will be relevant to the discussion or Dr. B’s expertise but here goes.
Could you explain the classification and definition of the commonly used names to categorize animals? Like primate, ape, aren’t we all animals or am I thinking mammals? It gets confusing when people use so many different terms without a clear definition, like when some say they think they are animals but I always understood humans are also animals. Just an idea to get everyone on the same page and clear up my own ignorance. Thanks again!

Could you ask the good doctor if he thinks a lot of historic and current haunting incidents are in actuality Sasquatch activity and does he feel the ghost element has been perpetuated by authorities to dispel the notion of a Bigfoot truth?
Mauri G
Yea I also wonder what the Dr. thinks about with the supernatural around Bigfoot, such as glowing eyes with no apparent light source, the orbs in the woods, and has he seen any of these and if not what does he think of the many reports of such. Thank you
Shelly S
Love Dr. B! Can’t wait for the show. I would like to know if he regrets going this way (Sasquatch study) in his career and if he had it to do over again what would he do differently?
???❤??
Jason H
Now that is an interesting question Shelly!
Bal G
Just don’t let him hog up the whole show. 20 minutes is enough.
