The Kelly Hopkinsville encounter, also known as the Hopkinsville Goblins Case, or the Kelly Green Men Case is a scary true story on a claimed encounter with extraterrestrial beings in 1955 near Kelly and Hopkinsville in Christian County, Kentucky.
On the evening of August 21, 1955, five adults arrived at the Hopkinsville police station claiming that small unknown creatures from a space craft were attacking their farmhouse and they had been holding them off with gunfire for about four hours. Two of the adults claimed they had been shooting at “twelve to fifteen” short, dark figures who repeatedly popped up at the doorway or peered into the windows.
For the next few hours, the witnesses said that the creatures repeatedly approached the home, either popping up at the doorway or at windows in an almost playful manner, only to be shot at each time they did.
