Did You See That?

A Listener writes “(Location NW Louisiana) (Time Frame: Around Fall 2010) My Father and Brother about 1.8 miles from my parents home. I was home for Thanksgiving one year and my Dad shared this story with me. One night around 11:00pm, my Dad and Brother were driving to a local Walmart.

As their vehicle was coming up out of a small draw in the road, my Father said that something ran across the road (from left to right) in front of their vehicle at an extremely fast pace. He said that it moved so quickly, that if he had been by himself in the vehicle, his mind would have completely dismissed the fact that something crossed the road.

A few seconds passed and my Dad asked my Brother if he had seen anything run across the road and my Brother replied in the affirmative, that he too had seen something. Now my Dad, was a Christian, God fearing man that would have no reason to make up what he indicated he had seen.

What he indicated to me was that this “Thing” as he called it, appeared to be about 8 feet tall, bipedal and hairless. I confirmed this with him and he repeated that it did not look like it had any body hair on it. He said it was very slim but had a lot of muscle definition (described like a tall, ripped, basketball player) and appeared to be somewhat grey/pale in color and moving at an extremely fast rate of speed. My Dad described the rate of speed by holding his hand up to one side of his face and moving it quickly to the other side of his face. My Dad said he did not think this was a bigfoot/sasquatch because as he stated he did not see hair on the body of the “Thing”. I asked him if he could describe this “Thing” how would he describe it…the only word out of his mouth was “demonic”. My Brother would not talk about this event for years in spite of me asking him about it on several occasions. Finally, he confirmed to me the event did in fact take place but he would not go into detail on what they had seen because he indicated it was “unnatural” and he did not want to discuss it.”

Did you see that?

A listener writes “Today (7-21-16) at about 2 pm my two sons (ages 12 and 13) and I took our two English mastiffs to a place that’s isolated and has cool water running down from the mountain. It’s a popular spot. It was kind of crowded but most of the other people were further up the trail about a quarter of a mile in the bigger pools. Anyway after about an hour my English mastiffs started going into attention mode and staring at the ridge line about 30 yards to our southeast. I didn’t think anything about it because they didn’t seem afraid or frightened. A few minutes later we started picking up this horrendous smell. It smelled like raw crap, garbage and something dead. Absolutely awful. But still I didn’t think anything about it.

About 15 minutes later we hear this CRACKING sound. We looked about 100 yards to our south to see a huge tree falling over. As it fell it broke into 3 pieces. “HOLY COW!” I exclaimed. Did you see that? Both my sons said yes and I noticed movement in the tree line by that spot where the tree was. I couldn’t make out any features except it was very tall. It was going from tree to tree and peeking around the trees. Then directly above us I caught movement and when I turned to look I saw this huge black thing on 2 legs. Reminded me of a body builder. I could only see that it had a cone shaped head and no neck. I would guess this thing was about 8 feet tall. It was the way it moved that got me though.

It was very fast but not a run. It moved smoothly with no visible bounce. I really don’t know how to put it into words. My dogs saw it and they had no reaction. And that’s just weird in and of itself. My oldest boy saw it out of the corner of his eye and it blew him away.

A couple of minutes later we started getting growled at from tree line about 30 yards to our southeast. I didn’t hear the first but I heard the rest. It was no dog or bear or anything like that. This thing was either a demon or a squatch. That’s when it became time to leave. As we were leaving we kept hearing these “whoop” calls coming from the ridge we heard the growls come from. So I got my boys and my dogs and got the hell out of there.

The weird thing is I had been having weird things going on at this place since 1986. I suspected it could’ve been Bigfoot activity but I wasn’t sure. I guess I’m sure now. I guess I’m feeling like I’m nuts now. Well maybe that’s not the right way to put it. It’s like I’m asking myself,”did I just really see what I saw?”  I hope I’m not crazy.”

Awesome! I wonder about the dogs though? Maybe it wasn’t close enough to really concern them though, and most would find stinky things interesting. Glad they left. Sounds like something else wanted some cool water.

I can’t believe all these ignorant liberals walking through the National forests with their kids and no firearm to protect them. I bet if Crooked Hillary or her friends were in the woods and saw something like this, they would wish that they had an assault style weapon that they are so intent on making illegal…

That’s the plan for tomorrow. 67 miles into ozark national forest with 4 nights back country primitive. Wish you guys were coming with me. Really hoping to avoid any encounters where we are going. I miss the ignorance of doing this as a teenager…
      Yeah, Thomas, I hear ya…

well aside from peoples opinions I’m glad there was a place for someone to feel comfortable enough to come forward a sighting less than a week old Thank you Wes for showing some support and relizing we have to be more serious with a subject that has so much ridicule.

This is an interesting and detailed report. The English mastiffs probably did provide a measure of safety – not that a sasquatch would fear them, but their presence would certainly be a consideration for a predator.
I am not surprised that the dogs didn’t react. There is no reason for a dog to somehow “understand” what they were dealing with – whether by instinct or learning. As with humans, the dogs were alert but uncertain.

my english mastiff has been around sasquatch all his life and looses his ever living mind when he hears them or smells them. but again he was raised in the wild and very protective. he will cock his head to rock clicks, and will quietly move back towards people when there are knocks

So scary! How are the boys reacting now that they are home? Are they telling their friends? I, too, think the presence of your mastiffs provided some protection. Hopefully next time the group you are with will be larger.
