A listener writes “Because of my interest in Bigfoot my wife and kids like to rib me quite a bit about it. And because we lived in Henderson Nevada for the last 18 years (although in the process of moving to Idaho), I assumed there would be no chance of my ever coming across one anytime soon since I had not really heard of any sightings in  the Las Vegas/Henderson area- except one from about 25 years ago. Well I was wrong and I am now positive that these things must live in, or at least migrate through just about every area. My home was in a subdivision at the very edge of Henderson and overlooked the Vegas Valley. There were no other homes behind our development and it was just open desert until the foothills and over the foothills was more desert and then Lake Mead. So in mid-April of this year (2020) my 19 year old son  Dylan was driving my truck home alone from his friend’s house and came running in the house at about 11:40 pm and yells “Dad! I just saw a bigfoot or something outside the gates to our development- I swear!” Well I found that hard to believe, but since I do love all things bigfoot I decided to at least take a look. Still- I am thinking he has to be pulling my leg because there is nothing like that in this climate where there is not a lot of cover so I ask him about what he saw as we jumped in the car to go look.

So as I said our development is the last development on this side of town and behind us is all protected desert that has a mountain bike trails and horse trails and they cannot build anymore heading east. So as you exit our development heading east, it is all desert with a couple of dirt roads cutting from north to south  and the desert slowly slopes up into the foothill/mountains which on the other side of them is Lake Mead- all of it undeveloped. So we get a ton of coyotes, quail, rabbits, and a periodic mountain goat or other animal. So from our development on its miles upon miles of undeveloped land. Well as you come out of our  back gate headed east its immediately desert and there is a small unmanned, walled,  power substation that is about 50’ by 50’ feet that is just across the road from the gate of our development and the road on the far northern side of our development dead ends just past it and is blocked by three big huge red and white “Road Out” road barricades on one side and a bunch of cement dividers that block the dirt road on the far side of the substation. Well when you drive up to get into our development your lights shine on those barricades which are each about 6 ½ feet tall and which have red and white reflective paint painted on them. So my son said when he was driving up he said he saw a tall black thing standing in front of the barricades that was about a foot or two taller than the top of the barricades and that it was completely black and had very long arms, a cone shaped head and that it started to walk away when his lights hit it. He said it walked strangely and like nothing he had ever seen before. He said he  was too scared to get too close because he said he had a total feeling of terror when he saw because he had never seen anything like it before in his life and it just felt wrong.

We drove up to find it, but nothing was there- although my two sons  did find a huge footprint when he went up together a little after I returned home.  I didn’t know what to believe or think at this point, but I thought that was the end of it and that we would never know the full truth about it, but I did believe my son saw something strange because of how scared he looked when he got home that night. Well about 5 days later that same son, his brother (they are identical twins) and their friend were up behind the substation at about 10:30 pm  at a little lookout area shining a green laser (keep in mind this was before I ever heard anything about Sasquatch not liking green lasers) and flashlights at people making out up there just to be annoying and to hassle them. Well they had parked my truck at those same barricades and walked up behind the substation to the little lookout. While they were standing there- which is about 100 yrds further up the slope towards the foothills from the barricades- they saw a tall black thing kind up towards the mountains about another 100 yrds further up and they were trying to figure out if it was a tree or what because it wasn’t moving at all and was so tall compared to the other brush and trees in the area. So they kind of dismissed it and kept looking over every few minutes for to see if it was still there because it seemed odd. Well the last time they look over this tall thing starts to walk down the slope towards them- they then realize that it is likely that tall black thing that my son saw previously– so they run back to the truck and drive to our house that is only about 45 seconds away and tell me they think its up there again. So – we grab big spotlights and jump back in the truck and drive up towards the barricade and we have a bunch of flashlights and stuff and as we are driving up- no lie Jack- its standing at the barricade and I was trying to start my phone recording when my kids yell “There it is” so I look up (and didn’t realize till later I dropped my phone on the floor so there is sound but no video) and I see exactly what my son had described as it starts to run down the dirt road towards the cement barricades and the corner of the substation. It was so tall- taller than the barricades – and so pitch black that it was like the headlights of mt truck got swallowed into it so you could not make out any real distinctive features other than it being very tall, lanky, extremely long arms, and that it was slunched over in an odd way and ran with its legs totally bent in a way I have never seen. And it was fast- by  the time our car turned the corner only seconds behind it. It was gone. And I have never seen something with arms that  long that ran that fast.  I have never seen anything like this in my life- it was not a human being. We all saw it also- Me, both my sons and their friend all saw it….but, it was not over yet……

So we turned around and drove the truck around to the far side of substation so we could get on the far side of cement barricades and drive towards it as it, we anticipated, would be running towards our  car on the far side. So we fly up the dirt road expecting to see it at any moment, but its not there so we stop and are shining our flashlights all around looking for it. Nothing. So we turn off the car and car lights, roll down the windows  and sit there quietly. And that is when we all hear the heavy running footsteps which seem to be coming toward us and seem to be very close but we cannot see it running anywhere. WE can only hear it. And it sounded like it was huge when you could hear its feet hitting the ground. So we shine our lights towards the very far side of the substation thinking that is the only possible place it could be without our seeing it run. The moment we do that  it started roaring at us from behind the wall of the substation- literally roaring. I have never heard anything like it in my life. No human could roar like that roared and I nearly crapped my pants. That is when we left because we were freaked out.

So there is something out here in Southern Nevada  that is not human and is huge. About 6 months ago we heard really weird howling up there also that wasn’t like a dog or coyote but was deeper almost like something wailing and I wonder if it was from this thing. Whatever it is it isn’t human and I will never go up there alone after dark. One last thing- we came home around 1:00 am and I went back up there at about 7:00 am hoping to see footprints in the soft dirt on the dirt road- well it had rained sometime between when we left and 7:00 am (which is very odd), however there was small pyramid of rocks built right by the barricades on the side of the road that was not there the night before. I don’t know what to make of that.

So that’s my story. I think I am pretty level headed- but I know we saw something that was not human and it walked on 2 feet.”
