Bridge Howls

Russell Miller posted this asking everyone what they thought it was. While I think this is coyotes, I am impressed Russell was able to capture it. I really wish more people would do this when they hear something strange. Russell writes “We got this last Sunday night, what do YOU think it is?”

That’s creepy…what’s worse for me is I heard a similar noise camping last Saturday! I kept thinking, as one would, what the hell is that? It kind of sounded like a dog but not… I know how those people feel. Damn there’s lots of odd stuff in the woods! Glad they got it recorded.

The artwork for this one is VERY creepy!
How many creatures are there in this picture?
I know it isn’t a photo, but it could be a good estimation , from some of the accounts.

I have coyotes next to.my house almost every night. They tend to be more shrill and more bizarre sounding. This sounds very different. I’d be alarmed if that was next to me in my woods. I’d come in, lock the doors, load the guns and also keep the dogs n horses in. Yikes. Weird.

Definitely coyotes or possibly coy dogs. That may account for the slightly off sound to the howls. Very interesting though and like Wes said def worthy of recording, if for no other reason than for educational purposes so that people that aren’t really familiar with wildlife or even those that are can differentiate between these animals and Sasquatch vocalizations. Pretty cool.

It’s a good recording! It has a canine sound to the howl. Little deep for a fox so maybe a coyote! I almost went with Tasmanian devil but they’re on vacation! Good job getting that recorded.
