Brave Wilderness: Stung By A Velvet Ant

It’s Friday night, why not. Want to know what a velvet ant is and how it feels to get stung by one? You are about to find out. You have seen Nathaniel “Coyote” Peterson get stung by just about everything on this planet. How this guy is still alive is beyond me but he is entertaining to watch.

Brave Wilderness writes “On this episode of Breaking Trail: Legacy Series, we take a look back at the time that Coyote got stung by the infamous Velvet Ant! Get ready… you’re about to see Coyote get STUNG by a VELVET ANT!”

I am very diligent in avoiding getting stings – even by sweat bees – I absolutely hate getting stung…but this guy? He should have joined the SEALs or, at least, the Marines.

I seen this guy before he goes around and try’s to see what insect has the most powerful sting . Not sure witch insect he said was the worst but I’m still trying to figure out what’s wrong with him to do something like this.?????

Back in the late 1950’s, we would visit my Grandparents in central Mississippi during the summer. My cousins an I would see some of these big “Ants” crawling around the ground at the foot of a tree. We would get a twig and use it to chase them from behind and would eventually kill them if we could. We never knew they would sting us or that their sting would be painful. I saw another one in the same area,Yazoo County, Ms (central Ms.) in the late 1990’s in my yard. It’s interesting to see what they really are but thankful I never got stung by one. They were a beautiful “Ant”. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fhgtvhome.sndimg.com%2Fcontent%2Fdam%2Fimages%2Fhgtv%2Ffullset%2F2008%2F7%2F29%2F0%2Fred-velvet-ant.jpg.rend.hgtvcom.581.436.suffix%2F1400943976389.jpeg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hgtv.com%2Fdesign%2Foutdoor-design%2Flandscaping-and-hardscaping%2Fred-velvet-ant&docid=6A1d1Yv4bkZRZM&tbnid=wJKBvs8fJIqruM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwjGpIPLwanhAhUETKwKHYVLDgUQMwhAKAQwBA..i&w=581&h=436&bih=568&biw=1242&q=WHAT%20IS%20A%20LARGE%20ANT%20THAT%20IS%20BLACK%20AND%20RED%20VELVET%20LOOKING&ved=0ahUKEwjGpIPLwanhAhUETKwKHYVLDgUQMwhAKAQwBA&iact=mrc&uact=8
