Bob Gimlin: The Legend Of Bigfoot

The description of the film is “Bob Gimlin: The Legend Of Bigfoot, This tells the amazing story of two young cowboys in northern California filming a bigfoot over 50 years ago.” I have watched the film and I enjoyed it. It is a recreation of events using animation while Bob does the commentary. A few moments made me laugh.

I saw this in Kennewick WA in 2018 at the International Bigfoot Conference hosted by Russell Accord… I believe in it’s entirety. I’ve wondered for years where this film was buried. My fiancé and I flew over 1.5k miles to get there and the entire experience was awesome. We missed our flight check in to get back home, but that bad news was the best part of the entire trip and we had the most fun at the convention on the extra day. If anyone ever gets the chance to go one of these conventions you definitely should.
I got to meet and talk to many prominent voices and figures in the field of Sasquatch or the paranormal…Wes was there too hehe… But seriously folks, meeting Wes is kind of a big deal to some people, (like meeting the singer from your favorite band) and he knows it too, evident by the numerous fans that circled his empty booth for several hours after his scheduled appearance time… as I’m watching people waiting for Wes, it was like watching vultures circle a dying man in the desert… and they all wanted the first prime pickens’ on his carcass… but alas, as the gods would have it, Wes would eventually arrive and it didn’t take long for the vultures to get a taste and disperse, to survey the remaining landscape. It didn’t take long for those buzzards to realize that Wes Germer really isn’t overly special or nearly the tastiest thing on the floor (actually no different than you or I)… but enough of the Germer roast, he really is a big, kind man and gracious with his time when he finally arrives. (Thanks for the poker invite btw and sorry we didn’t make it.)
Now we pan over to Bob Gimlin… Now it doesn’t matter if he’s sitting down, standing or walking… to Bob it must feel like he’s always in the terrifying scene from Alfred Hitchcocks “The Birds”… at least I would be… but Bob is no ordinary guy, he handles it all with style and grace and a big ole cowboy smile that’s as genuine as the rawhide he once rode hard. We’ve all gotten to know Gimlins life a little more since everyones ongoing excitement over the film… and I think we’ve all deduced that Bob has always been a blue-collar hardworking family guy, he loves horses, nature and the outdoors. I wouldn’t doubt he’s broken a few bones with some of those horses as well, (I think it kinda goes with the territory). It seems obvious to me that over the years he’s taken some less than desirable jobs to make ends meet and at the same time bent over backwards to help friends, (even if it took him out of pocket). Bob is the kind of old school guy who’s got a swagger that comes from living hard but living right… it’s not rehearsed and he’s not trying to be someone he’s not, the man is the real deal. He makes everyone feel good to have met him, even when he doesn’t know anything about most of us when we do see him. He trusts and gives before he gets, but he also holds people accountable as nicely as he can if he knows they’re up to know good (he has strong morals and values).
What I want people to realize, is that it doesn’t matter what your personal view of the PG film is… it doesn’t matter if what you saw looks like “Patty”… it won’t matter in the future one way or another how much “evidence” is lost or gained from the film, it never did. Sometimes you can get so lost in trying to decipher clues when trying to find the treasure that you completely miss it.
So here’s my take on it… It isn’t about Bob taking part in bringing us clues to get us closer to this mysterious treasured creature and celebrating a film… it’s about waking up and getting a clue that the PG film is what brought all of US closer to the man, Bob Gimlin… There’s your undeniably real, your evidence, answers, your shining specimen and also your treasure.
There’s more treasure out there… keep looking everyone:)
