The Irish Star reports “The mystery of New Jersey’s skies buzzing with drones has led to tightened restrictions on the devices. Residents have been inundated with sightings of inexplicable flying objects , prompting a swift government response to alleviate fears, insisting there is no threat to national security.

Despite this, the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has broadened its drone exclusion zone ; initially encompassing 22 districts, it now includes another nine. Although less frequent, current clips still emerge from counties like Somerset, Ocean, and Bergen, perpetuating public fascination—yet the FAA’s motivations for the extended ban remain opaque.

The FAA referred questions to Homeland Security, resulting in a referral loop, while the FBI acknowledged only 100 out of around 5,000 drone reports as “credible.”

Even amid stricter controls and increased oversight, officials stand firm that there’s no national security or safety peril. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby asserted: “We have not identified anything anomalous or any national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the Northeast.”

Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy reported that his officers used their drone to chase a group of mysterious aircraft “coming off the ocean” after being spotted by a deputy, but the “industrial-grade” drone couldn’t keep up with the faster objects, reports the Express US .

Authorities in Ocean County had sought an emergency declaration back in December to allow for federal assistance in dealing with these drone incidents. This period saw heightened activity, despite stricter drone restrictions.

Congressman Jeff Van Drew told The New York Post that his high-clearance US government sources have confirmed fears that these drones could be foreign surveillance devices. He expressed alarm saying: “Something’s very wrong,” noting the drones’ ability to travel undetected as they are the size of minivans and fly through radar-blind zones.

He added more detail on the unsettling nature of the situation: “We’ve got unidentifiable, sophisticated drones, as big as minivans, carefully navigating airspace that’s not covered by radar, in a very important part of our country, and still, a month later, we somehow don’t know anything. ” Van Drew also criticized the tranquilizing responses from the government, stressing: “We’re being told, ‘Don’t worry, everything’s okay.'”.

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden raised the alarm over public safety due to a spike in nocturnal drone activity: “Residents are increasingly alarmed by the surge in drone activity after dark, raising concerns about public safety and security.”

He urged immediate action, stating, “We cannot wait any longer. The Governor must act now, and the Air National Guard needs to step in to protect our communities.”

A listener writes “Hi, Wes. I have been thinking of contacting you for over a year. It was 2004 and happened after I moved from southern California to Florida in a newly built neighborhood that was previously very rural.

I couldn’t get to my neighborhood without running over hundreds of snakes and frogs and this that, and the other just to get there after it was built. It’s where all the locals used to talk about going to the woods. They used to go out to do 4×4, what they call mudding.
two other people were with me when the encounter happened. When I got back, my wife at the time rolled her eyes, but this was very real.

The boys I was with thought it was a grinch because it was tall and skinny and that’s all we could compare it to that at the time, so they called it the Gray Grinch (a very scary version)

I knew exactly what it was, so when I was asked by the family what it was, I said it was a SMOKED OUT BIGFOOT meaning it looked like it was sasquatch smoking crack or something because it looked very skinny and gray. I knew these animals existed because my half brother grew up in a place called Grants Pass Oregon. I would hear about his encounters as a boy. Stories I couldn’t forget.

I know your somebody who actually knows that they’re real.. So your show is the only I trust. I even tried to make it light hearted when trying to tell people by joking about its appearance, but in fact it really scared the crap out of us.”

The Independent reports “A newly discovered ‘dinosaur highway’ has been discovered buried under mud in a quarry in England. Researchers have discovered nearly 200 dinosaur footprints dating back 166 million years, changing what we knew about the creatures.

The dig, carried out at Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire by teams from the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham, uncovered five extensive trackways, forming part of a ‘dinosaur highway’ – with evidence of more in the surrounding area.

The longest continuous track of footprints measured more than 150 metres in length, with four made by long-necked herbivorous dinosaurs called sauropods and most likely to be Cetiosaurus, an up to 18-metre-long cousin of the Diplodocus.

The fifth trackway was made by the nine-metre long carnivorous Megalosaurus which had distinctive, large, three-toed feet with claws, the University of Birmingham said.

The fifth trackway was made by the nine-metre long carnivorous Megalosaurus which had distinctive, large, three-toed feet with claws, the University of Birmingham said.

One area of the site shows the carnivore and herbivore tracks crossing over, prompting questions about whether and how the two were interacting. Experts were called into the quarry when worker Gary Johnson felt “unusual bumps” as he was stripping clay back with a digger to expose the quarry floor. The Universities of Oxford and Birmingham co-led a team of more than 100 people on a week-long excavation in June 2024, uncovering around 200 footprints, creating 20,000 photographs and building detailed 3D models of the site using aerial drone photography.

The new trackways connect to discoveries made in the area in 1997, where limestone quarrying revealed more than 40 sets of footprints, with some trackways reaching up to 180 metres in length.

Experts say the new discoveries will provide valuable insights into how the dinosaurs walked, speeds they reached, how big they were, and if and how they interacted with each other.

Dr Duncan Murdock, earth scientist at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH), said: “The preservation is so detailed that we can see how the mud was deformed as the dinosaurs’ feet squelched in and out.

Professor Richard Butler, professor of palaeobiology at the University of Birmingham, said: “There is much more that we can learn from this site, which is an important part of our national Earth heritage.

“Our 3D models will allow researchers to continue to study and make accessible this fascinating piece of our past for generations to come.”

Clone Robotics is working on a project that could change how we view robots and close the gap between humans and machines. The startup company shared a video on its official YouTube page of a biomimetic android robot with a human’s shoulders, neck, and torso.

With detailed human anatomical structures like the glenohumeral, scapulothoracic, acromioclavicular, and sternoclavicular joints in place, the stark white robot recreated eerily similar human-like movements with artificial muscles.

Under the torso demo, many viewers couldn’t help but note how eerily similar the robot looked to something straight out of the American Sci-fi series Westworld. The startup company also shared videos of their synthetic hand that, composed of life-like fingers and wrists, could form a fist and spread its fingers individually. Powered by hydraulic muscles, this robot flawlessly simulated the strength and flexibility of real muscles, giving the eerie feeling of a human hand detached from its body. But as creepy as it might seem, we’re closer than ever to having robots that move as seamlessly as real humans.

A listener writes “Hi Wes. I’ve been listening to your show for quite some time now. I’ve had two sightings in different locations here in Louisiana but have been reluctant to share with anyone for a few reasons.

I’m born and raised in South Louisiana and also spent a lot of time in East and NE Texas. I’ve spent a good amount of time outdoors and in the woods hunting, camping and fishing. I’m a Police officer which is one of my reasons for being reluctant to share.

Upcoming Show Police Officer Encounters Sasquatch

The First event took place on June 1st 2019

I say event because I didn’t physically see anything. My son (he was 6 1/2 at the time) and I were remote camping in the Kisatchie National Forest. The location was located between Alexandria and Natchitoches LA. We had camped at this same location at least 3 times prior to this without any issues. It was not a designated camping spot but more of a clearing with bluffs on 3 sides. It’s a beautiful location that’s slightly off the beaten path of a remote fire road. We had met a friend of mine and his girlfriend there the day before for a couple of days of camping and off-roading. We set up camp on Friday afternoon, the day before. We both drove off-road Toyota 4runners. He had a roof top tent on his and we set up our large ground tent. Now me being a LEO I go pretty much everywhere heavily armed, especially remote camping. This trip I had my sidearm, a Sig P320 9mm, and also my suppressed .300 Blkout SBR M4 style rifle with two 30 round mags. Yes I’m a gun nerd. We all just hung out that evening around the fire and had sandwiches. That night we went to bed at about 10pm. I had my pistol and rifle in the tent with me. My son and I slept on a queen size inflatable mattress. We heard nothing outside of the normal forest sounds that night. The next day we went off for the day exploring and off-roading around the area. I left my tent and gear setup there, as I did many times before.

We got back to camp around 4pm Saturday afternoon. It seemed like a few items were scattered around but I couldn’t be sure and just thought maybe it was the wind or something. That evening rather than sandwiches again we cooked tacos and made smores. Yeah they were jam up!! We sat around the fire again just talking until about 9ish and then went to our tents. I’d say we were about 30-40 yards from each other. My son wanted to watch a movie on the iPad so we did that for a while until he fell asleep. I remember it was right at 11pm because I got out of the tent to put the iPad in the truck to charge. My phone was also in the truck because there was zero cell coverage there so it was pointless having it in the tent. I went back in the tent, took my pants and shirt off because it’s hot as shit here and got settled in for bed. Then it dawned on me I forgot my rifle in the locked case in my 4Runner. I had my 9mm with me so I said screw it as I didn’t feel like getting dressed again to go get it. Only real threat we have here would be black bears although I’d never seen one out there so I figured 16 rounds of 9mm would be more than sufficient for anything I might need.

I had no way at this point to tell the time but I’m guessing it was about 30 minutes or so later that things got really strange. I was just drifting off to sleep but an eerie sense of complete silence came over me. I mean nothing was making noise, no crickets, birds or anything. Then I heard something coming up from the slight bluff through thickett behind us. It was a moderately wooded area but not real thick. My kid was playing in that same area that afternoon so I was familiar with the area. Whatever was coming up from the woods was stealthy but still made some noise moving through the brush. I could easily tell it was big, at least big in the sense that it wasn’t a opossum or raccoon or something like that. My first thought was a bear. My second thought was I didn’t have my damn rifle and the truck was locked and at least 30 yards from the tent. I reached for my pistol and slid it out of the holster and layed it across my chest. I thought about getting the truck keys and setting off the panic mode, hoping that would scare off whatever it was. I reached around trying to find where I put my pants to get my keys but I couldn’t find them from where I was laying.

I was trying not to make any noise so I didn’t want to get up. It was at that time that I heard a loud pop, like when you step on a stick and it breaks. The movement at that time completely stopped. It was as if whatever it was knew it made a loud noise and paused walking. At least a minute or two went by without a single sound, then it started walking toward the tent again. As it got closer I could clearly tell that it was walking on 2 legs. It was definitely bipedal, no doubt. I thought this is a person but who hell would be coming out of the woods at midnight and approaching an unknown camp. The sound and weight of the foot steps as it got closer was no way a person. They were so heavy sounding.

As it stepped close to the tent you could feel them on the ground. Not shaking the ground per say but damn you could feel the percussion of them. It walked right next to the tent down one side, and I mean right next to it. Wes I’ve never been scared for my life until this night. My only thought was “please don’t let my son wake up”. I knew if he did he would make noise and I was trying to be completely quiet. I had a death grip on my pistol but something told me a 9mm was not nearly enough for whatever was out there. I made up my mind that shooting it was a last ditch resort. I thought my safest option was complete silence. It made its way around the head of the tent and then stepped away a little bit. Like maybe to check out the truck. I immediately heard it come closer to the tent again and start down the other side, walking the opposite way, like toward where it came from. It was then I almost died. It touched the outer roof of the tent as it walked the entire length of the tent.

I could only imagine that it drug its finger down the tent as it walked along. It was a pitch black night so I couldn’t see anything or even a shadow, but I could see the tent shake and it touched the roof. As it got to the end of that side it paused for a few seconds and then continued out towards the woods. This walk was different though. It was more hurried and seemed to not care about the noise it was making. As it hit the woods you could hear it pick up the pace as it made its way through the brush. I layed there completely still. Maybe after a few minutes or so the forest returned to its normal sounds.

The whole thing lasted what seemed like maybe 5 minutes but honestly I really don’t know. Other than the footsteps it made little to no sounds other than 2 maybe 3 slight huffs, if you know what I mean. There was a noticeable odor as it was close but nothing putrid as I’ve heard people report. Wes again I was terrified for my son’s safety the most. I swear I layed in that exact position until the sun came up. I don’t think I fell asleep at all. I wanted to get up and try to retrieve my rifle from the truck but I was scared that it was still watching. If my kid wouldn’t have been there I think I would have reacted differently but also probably foolishly as well. I feel him being there may have actually saved my life. I didn’t get out of the tent until I heard my buddy get out of his. I came out and looked around and nothing had been disturbed. I asked him if he heard anything last night. He said he thought he heard someone walking around but figured it was me getting up to pee or something. I looked around the tent to see if I saw prints of any kind but the ground was hard and grassy. I could see where the area around the tent was disturbed but no prints of any kind. I don’t know what that thing was but I know it was huge. There is no way anything that wasn’t walking upright could reach the roof of the tent. I know without a doubt it was not a person. If it was, he was huge!!!! Again I know I’m leaving out so many details here.

Second Sighting

This sighting was on November 8th 2020. It was just North of I-10 near the town of Rosedale. This is on the Eastern edge of Atchafalaya Basin and very close to the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area. The area is very rural, with wetland woods and sugarcane fields. I was on my way home from Texas traveling East on LA 76 about 1am. Again the road has no lighting and is very dark, with no traffic at that time of night. My 4Runner has ditch lights installed for off-roading. These are in intensity LED cubes mounted at the base of the windshield angled at 45 degree outward. They are to light up the ditch area out to the side of the truck when off-road. I normally wouldn’t run these on the highway but I usually do on this road because it’s so dark and there are deer everywhere along this stretch. Where I was the highway is elevate about 3-4′ higher that the surrounding field.I was traveling along a cane field which is separated from the road by a deep ditch, maybe 10′ deep and about 20′ wide, and there is about a 20 yard separation from the edge of the ditch to where the cane is planted.

November is right at harvest time so the cane is about 10-12′ tall at this point. I’m going about 45 mph along this cane field and coming up to a point where the cane ends and the woodline starts. I travel this road often so I know where the marker reflectors are but in the distance I see a pair of what I thought were amber reflectors in the field where I know they shouldn’t be. Now keep in mind I have way more lighting than the average vehicle so I’m seeing this at probably 100 yards or so. I know this isn’t right so I took my foot off of the gas and started slowing down a little bit to check this out. As I get closer I see that these are not reflectors. I very clearly see a huge creature standing at the corner of this cane field holding a dead deer in its arms. I’m completely in shock at what I’m looking at but I immediately know what it was. There was at least an 8′ Sasquatch standing there looking back at me.

It was standing against the cane close to where the woods were. It was maybe 2′ shorter than the cane so it was easily 8′ tall. It was holding a whitetail doe in both arms like it was cradling it. The deer’s head was twisted the wrong way from where it should have been, obviously its neck had been broken. My thought is it had chased the deer down from the cane or woods and I just happened along at that moment. It was looking at me with the same amazement as I was looking at it. It just had the oh shit I’m caught look. It was completely frozen as I was passing. I would have thought it was a statue except as I passed it took a step with its left foot to watch me pass, rather than turning its neck. I just drove past it until I couldn’t see it any longer and then thought to myself, “you idiot why didn’t you stop”.

Like before I just had this fear come over me. When I snapped but to my senses I knew I had to go back. Maybe another 100 yards past there was a culvert over the ditch that I was able to turn around at. I floored it back to where it was but it was gone. I pulled over another culvert right where it was, shining my lights down the stretch of dirt road between the cane and the woods but didn’t see anything. I really thought about driving back there or getting out and looking for tracks but all I had was my 9mm with me. There is almost zero chance that would have offered me any protection from this creature had it chosen to come after me. I sat there for 10 minutes just looking all around hoping for another glimpse.

Like I said it was at least 8′ tall with dark brown hair (I’d say cinnamon brown but darker). It was completely covered in hair except for the face around the eyes and cheek area. The skin there is what I’d describe as brown for several shades lighter than the hair, I guess maybe tan. The eyes were huge like the size of coffee cups and the eyes reflected a bright amber color, reflected not shined. The head was smaller in proportion to the shoulder width than it should have been with a slight pointy shape toward the top. It had a flat wide nose but more human shaped than ape shaped.

The arms were long looking but hard for me to say how long because they were curled up supporting the deer it was holding. The legs were massive looking with the upper leg length very out of proportion compared to a human. I guess I’m trying to say the knees looked much lower making the upper thigh area look longer. It stood with the knees slightly bent. Okay this will sound crazy but the only thing I have to compare it to would be Patty and Chewbacca. LOL It had the Patty look but the build of Chewbacca. It looked much taller and leaner than Patty. It was at least twice as wide as a large person though. This thing had to weigh 600 plus pounds easily. I was on the elevated roadway in my truck but almost looked eye level with it. Maybe it was taller than 8′.

I know I’m leaving out details here. I’d be happy to answer any questions that I could if you have any. I could also get pics of the area and pinpoint them on a map. The sugarcane has already been harvested this year so pics probably wouldn’t help much. Why didn’t I think to go back and document things better? I was in shock for so long I guess. I still have a hard time processing all of this and especially talking about the first incident. That was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. I hope all of this makes some sense and if you’d like any further detail just let me know. Thanks for your time Wes and thanks for putting out this podcast for us. I never thought listening to your show that I’d be writing this email. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a happy New Year.”

A listener writes “As a little girl my family would go camping at a place called “Flaming Gorge” it’s in Eastern Utah. It’s divided by a pretty huge Gorge (for Utah anyway) and has mountains all around it. I was somewhere between the age 4/5 when my family went down to the cliffs to Cliff Jump all day. This was back in the late 80’s early 90’s. Since I was so little I didn’t do the cliff jumping with my siblings. I was allowed to play around the cliffs as long as I stayed in eyesight. This was a really safe place with families that just camped in designated camping sections.

The Flaming Gorge Creature

Well as little kids do, I was a wanderer. My Dad had given me a whistle in case I got lost so I could blow it and he’d know where I was.
I was just walking along the cliffs (which wrap around the entire Gorge) playing like little kids do. I obviously wasn’t paying attention, so when I looked up I realized I couldn’t see my family, and I could no longer recognize the cliffs.

It started getting darker and darker until dusk hit. I was blowing my whistle but no Dad came running. I remember being pretty close to the cliff edge but kind of hidden in the trees. I remembered that I wasn’t supposed to move once I got lost.

Right around sunset I noticed all the sounds had stopped. I couldn’t hear the waves crashing along the cliffs, the bugs had stopped chirping, and the trees stood silent. I could feel something watching me. I remember looking across the Gorge (about 100 feet) and saw this big black creature on 2 legs that resembled a gorilla I’d seen at the zoo staring at me. I’ll never forget the fear that came over me. I remember it’s eyes, and the meanness in it’s face so distinctly. I instantly stopped blowing my whistle and I just crouched down, covered my head in between my legs and just begged God to send my Dad to me. I’ll never forget the next moment. It felt like it took a lifetime but like it happened instantly at the same time. Arms wrapped around me and my dad’s voice whispered “keep your eyes closed and be quiet” and he took off running. I just clutched onto him until the noises came back before I dated look up. I remember him calmly telling me that I was okay, and I was safe.

It took us forever to get back to camp because by the time we got there, the sky was black, and EVERYONE from the entire campground was searching for me with flashlights. I don’t know how but apparently I had been gone since about noon and it was between 830 and 9 from what my family and Dad have told me. My brother’s and Dad remember it vividly. My Dad remembers the creature and my brothers remember me being lost. I’ll never forget it. I’ll mostly never forget the fear and his eyes.”

Studium Historiae writes “Medieval lore was full of fantastical creatures. Some, like the dragon or the basilisk are still well known and popular today. But others remain fairly obscure, despite their popularity back then.

This is the case for the legendary dog-headed men, or cynocephali, thought to inhabit the lands beyond the familiar. Whether placed in India, Scandinavia, or Libya, these half-human hybrids fascinated medieval people and inspired both imagination and intellectual discussion. In fact, there was quite a bit of discussion as to whether or not they could be considered human.”

Thieves cut through a 10-foot barbed wire fence and stole gear from trailers, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office search-and-rescue team said.

K5 reports “PORTLAND, Ore. — The search-and-rescue team with the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is facing a significant setback. Thieves stole equipment while crews were out recovering the bodies of two Portland men who were reported missing and later recovered in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

The two men, who were 59 and 37 years old, went out searching for Sasquatch and were supposed to return home on Christmas Eve, according to law enforcement. A family member reported them missing on Christmas Day. After a three-day search, the men were found dead in a heavily wooded area.

The sheriff’s office has not yet released their names, but said they appear to have died due to exposure. The medical examiner will be conducting a full autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

On the last day of the mission, the search-and-rescue team said thieves cut through a 10-foot barbed wire fence and stole gear from their trailers. The stolen items include an automated external defibrillator, or AED, custom wilderness medical kits and generators.

The search and rescue team is affiliated with the sheriff’s office, but it’s a nonprofit fully comprised of volunteers with no paid staff. The sheriff’s office said it’s disappointed by what the thieves did, as this group is the primary team they rely on for search-and-rescue missions.

“These people volunteer their time, their own money, time away from their families, not just for missions, but training,” said Skamania County Sheriff Summer Scheyer. “And to have this happen to them after they spent Christmas out in the field, searching for people and returning their loved ones, is disgusting to me.”

Not only will the search-and-rescue team have to repurchase all of the equipment that was stolen, but the loss of the equipment will impact future rescue missions until it is replaced. The estimated cost for all the tools is in the thousands of dollars, the group said.

There was no security system or cameras at the outdoor facility where the equipment was stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490 and reference case number 24-09035.”

Rescue team’s gear stolen hours after finding men who died Sasquatch hunting

Years Of Traveling writes “Did you know only five bioluminescent bays exist globally? Three of them are in Puerto Rico . These places, called “ bio bays ,” glowing tiny microorganisms called dinoflagellates . When these tiny creatures are disturbed, they light up the water with a beautiful blue-green glow.

Swimming in these bays feels like swimming among stars. Mosquito Bay in Vieques is the most famous, welcoming up to 200 visitors each night. Laguna Grande and La Parguera also offer unique experiences and stunning views. But, seeing these wonders reminds us of how fragile these places are.

Understanding Bioluminescence and Its Significance

Bioluminescence is when some living things make light through a chemical reaction. This process uses a special pigment called luciferin and an enzyme called luciferase. It’s a natural wonder that shows how diverse marine life can be. Over 1,500 known fish species can light up the sea. This light-making ability has evolved many times in different species.

Dinoflagellates are tiny but mighty in the ocean. They live in warm, rich waters and create amazing light shows during algal blooms . Some dinoflagellates can cause harmful algal blooms (HABs) when they grow in huge numbers.

Bioluminescence is more than just pretty lights. It helps marine life in many ways. Many species make blue-green light. This light travels well in both shallow and deep waters.

  • Defense: Some creatures use light to scare off predators. For example, deep-sea worms can release a light bomb when threatened. Squid flash light to confuse predators.
  • Mating: Bioluminescencehelps in finding mates. Syllid fireworms use light to attract partners.
  • Hunting: Anglerfish use their bioluminescent lures to catch prey.

Bioluminescence plays a big role in marine ecosystems. It helps us understand how different creatures adapt and interact. The energy used to make light is mostly without heat, showing how evolution has perfected these light-making abilities for survival.

As scientists study bioluminescence, they find new ways to learn about deep-sea creatures like the giant squid. This opens up new areas for research and discovery.

Key Factors Behind Bioluminescent Bays

Bioluminescent bays need certain environmental factors to exist. Dinoflagellates , tiny organisms, are key to these glowing bays. They need warm water, nutrients, and calm seas to grow.

Water qualityis also crucial. Clean water lets dinoflagellates grow in large numbers. For example, Mosquito Bay in Vieques is very bright because of its dinoflagellate population.

  • Small bay size with limited water circulation helps retain high dinoflagellate concentrations.
  • Proximity to mangroves provides necessary nutrients, particularly vitamin B12.
  • Heavy rainfall can boost dinoflagellate populations as mangroves release nutrients.

But, light pollution and habitat destruction are big threats. Too much artificial light hurts these ecosystems. We need to understand and protect these magical places to keep our planet healthy.

Famous Bioluminescent Bays in the United States

The United States is home to many Puerto Rico bioluminescent bays . These spots offer a magical experience for those who want to see this natural wonder. Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island is known as the brightest bay in the world. It has millions of dinoflagellates per gallon of water, creating a stunning light show at night.

Laguna Grande in Fajardo is another top spot. It’s easy to get to from San Juan , making it a favorite among tourists. Visitors can see the glowing waters from glass-bottomed kayaks, making it a memorable experience.

La Parguera in Lajas offers a different experience. It allows swimming and motorboat use, letting adventurers dive into the glowing waters. Taking bioluminescent tours here teaches you about the science behind this magical glow.

Tomales Bay in California and the Indian River Lagoon in Florida also have bioluminescent activity. Each bay offers a unique chance to explore and learn, attracting nature enthusiasts and curious travelers.

Conservation and Future of Bioluminescent Bays

Keeping bioluminescent bays safe is key for their ecosystems. These areas are mainly home to dinoflagellates like Pyrodinium bahamense. But, they face dangers like pollution, climate change, and coastal development.

Protecting these magical places needs a big effort. We must focus on saving the environment . This means starting conservation projects that care for nature.

For places like Mosquito Bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico, we need to support green tourism. This means choosing tours that are good for the planet. It’s also important to keep the water clean for the dinoflagellates to thrive.

Teaching people about these bays is crucial. It helps locals and visitors understand why they’re important. This way, we can all work together to save them.

The future of bioluminescent bays depends on us. We must keep watching and take steps to lessen our impact. By doing this, we can make sure these bays stay special for years to come.

Studying these ecosystems reminds us of nature’s beauty. It shows us why we must protect them for future generations. Let’s make sure they can enjoy these wonders too.

7 Nights of Sasquatch in West Georgia

The New York Post reports “A former stock car racer and self-proclaimed paranormal investigator has posted footage to YouTube he said shows drones flying off the New Jersey coast in “deliberate formations” over the Atlantic Ocean. CJ Faison, a Delaware YouTuber with 600,000 subscribers, rented himself a boat, grabbed his night vision video camera, and ventured from the Pine Barrens to the ocean 26 miles east.

Faison claimed in the 45-minute video to be “doing something no YouTuber or news outlet has done.”

He teased in the footage “we think we uncovered the truth” about the recent sightings of mysterious unmanned aircraft hovering over the Garden State. Sightings of unidentified drones emitting strange light patterns started back in mid-November, and reached a fever pitch around Dec. 8.

The debate over what the drones actually are and who is controlling them rages on, with the feds providing little more than assurances they pose no threat to the public.

Like most of the purported drone footage online, Faison’s footage from the rented boat fails to provide clear images of what he claimed were drones that emerged from the ocean. A series of blinking lights was caught by Faison’s camera. He noted the lights blinked in a pattern similar to the lights of commercial aircraft.

“They’re blending in,” the YouTuber said. “Hidden in plain sight!” Some of the alleged drones Faison filmed moved quickly, darting across the horizon.

“It’s wild,” he proclaimed. “It’s eerie.”

“This is only the beginning,” Faison further warned. “I have so many questions. What’s launching these drones? How are they staying airborne for hours? What’s their energy source? And why here? Why New Jersey?”

New Jersey officials said this week the number of sightings had dropped, with very little activity reported around Christmas. The drop-off follows FAA-imposed restrictions on New York and New Jersey airspace.

The FBI said it has investigated approximately 5,000 of the various reports it received from the public, with about 100 deemed credible.

Two Oregon men were found dead in a Washington state forest after they failed to return from a trip to look for Sasquatch (Bigfoot), authorities said Saturday. The 59-year-old and 37-year-old appear to have died from exposure, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said via Facebook.

The weather and the men’s lack of preparedness led the office to draw that conclusion, it said. Sasquatch is a folkloric beast thought by some to roam the forests, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

The two men were found in a heavily wooded area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, which is about 150 miles (240 kilometers) northeast of Portland. A family member reported them missing on Christmas Day after they failed to return from a Christmas Eve outing.

Sixty volunteer search-and-rescue personnel helped in the three-day search, including canine, drone and ground teams. The Coast Guard used infrared technology to search from the air. Authorities used camera recordings to locate the vehicle used by the pair off Oklahoma Road near Willard, which is on the southern border of the national forest.

Sasquatch search leaves 2 dead in Washington

Wildman of the Woods writes “In this episode, we uncover two spine-chilling encounters with Sasquatch that will leave you questioning what’s really out there in the wild. From the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone National Park to the dense forests of Salt Fork State Park—Ohio’s Bigfoot capital—we piece together eyewitness accounts, expert analysis, and stunning recreations to shed light on the enduring mystery of Sasquatch on this episode of Wildman Mysteries by Wildman of the Woods.

First, hear the harrowing story of a Yellowstone park ranger who had a life-changing encounter in the remote Fan Creek drainage. Known for its untamed wilderness, Yellowstone has long been a hotspot for Bigfoot sightings. Could the creature the ranger saw, with its powerful build and human-like movements, be the elusive Sasquatch? With Yellowstone National Park’s vast backcountry as its potential habitat, the legendary creature might just be hiding in plain sight.

Then, travel to Ohio’s Salt Fork State Park, a location famous for Bigfoot activity. Naturalist John Hickenbottom recounts a chilling roadside encounter on Parker Road, where a third-shift worker came face-to-face with a massive, mysterious figure standing over seven feet tall. Salt Fork, known as one of the most active Sasquatch hotspots in North America, has become a pilgrimage site for Bigfoot enthusiasts, drawing researchers, skeptics, and believers alike.

Chester Moore, the acclaimed wildlife journalist and Bigfoot researcher featured in Southern Fried Bigfoot, joins us to delve into the science of Sasquatch vocalizations. From the legendary Ohio Howl to the haunting Sierra Sounds, Moore analyzes the eerie calls that researchers have attributed to Bigfoot. Are these vocalizations evidence of an undiscovered species, or could they be misidentified sounds from known wildlife like elk, owls, or coyotes? Chester Moore’s insights, drawn from decades of experience, provide fascinating clues for aspiring cryptozoologists.”

Blake writes “Hey Wes, I listen to your show with my pops a lot we’re both huge fans. I just wanted to share a encounter I had 2 years ago. I can’t really type well so I would love to talk about it over the phone maybe but I’ll give you a brief summary. Me and my dad love nature I mean the mountains, hiking, camping anything with outdoors. One day me and my dad decided to do “bushcraft” for a day. Not clear about the time but I know it was reaching sunset so somewhere around 8 to 9 since it was summer.

We shot up to Ashford WA which is known for bigfoot encounters. After doing our little “bushcraft” we decided to head back. On our way back my dad parked in this little game made trail off the rode. At this point it was it was still light out but you can see the sun set. My dad suggested I should go with him down the trail to do our bigfoot call. Me being tired wet, sandy, just overall dirty I decided to stay behind. After a little bit my dad turned the corner of the trail till he was out of site. Keep in mind my dad is wearing blue jeans, orange shit, and a pair of brown shoes. After he turned the corner I thought it would be a good idea to hide in the back of our car to scare him when he comes back. After ten minutes of no return I peaked my head up to see when he was on his way back. That’s when I saw this thing it was at least 7-8 feet tall. It was jet black with some bark or moss tangled with us fur.

My dad is wearing bright colors this thing was jet black. No one was out there besides me and my dad. This thing was carrying a fallen tree or a huge log. He was carrying it like he was playing tug of war. Like both his hands on it while jumping back like something was pulling it back. Sometimes he would stop and pound the stick with his fist. I really couldn’t believe it so I peeked my head out the window to get clearer view. I saw more detail too much to write down so I prefer bto explain it over call. I yelled “NEBRASKA” as that’s me and my dad’s code word for trouble. I went back into the car to grave my phone to see if I can record it but by the time I peeked back out he was gone and the trees were moving like something ran past it and keep in mind… There was no wind. There was so many more details I would like to tell you.”

We will also be speaking to Tracy. Tracy writes “Hey Wes, I had a run in with something in the La Sal mountains just outside Moab , Utah in 2022 while hunting deer with my cousin. I never saw the creature but had something come into our camp and scream at us in the middle of the night and screamed for hours, while this thing was screaming something was circling our little tent and I could hear it breathing, it was a depressing sad breathing.

Also the day before this occurrence while wearing camouflage and sitting in the bush glassing for deer an 80 foot quaky tree was pushed over toward us. Despite there not being any wind and it being a beautiful calm day, we just chalked it up to being a weird coincidence…. I’m interested in finding out if you have had other encounters in this area, thank for all you do and I love your show.. I didn’t even register Bigfoot or even had it in my vocabulary but this experience led me to your show and now I’m looking to other possibilities. Thanks.”

****I apologize for the late post. Seems like everything I touched today started a fire. Ever have one of those days?****

Christy writes “Hi Wes, I’ve been listening to your podcast for a while, and I think my story might be worth discussing. I’d like to remain anonymous if I share it on your show. I had an encounter that wasn’t with a Sasquatch but resembled a small grey alien. I know it sounds crazy, but this experience has haunted me and scared me deeply. I was about 17 years old, living in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Mariposa County, close to Midpines and Highway 140.

It was around 1989, and my sister was living in San Diego with our aunt and uncle at the time. My home life wasn’t great, but I had a summer job in Yosemite, which kept me close to the area despite the many missing person signs I frequently saw! Our property was ten acres surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest, with a few neighbors about a quarter to half a mile away. We had two trailers situated in an L shape on a mountain, nestled among pines, cedars, and manzanita.

One afternoon in the fall, around 3 PM, I walked home from the bus stop, feeling an unsettling vibe in the air. I started to check around the trailers when I suddenly spotted a pearly-white disc hovering right above me. THERE WAS NO SOUND. My brain could not compute what I was looking at. I ducked behind a tree, and when I peeked out, it was just a couple of feet away, silently floating behind the tree – right above me. It was about three feet wide and seemed incredibly advanced, even compared to today’s technology.

Things got weirder from there.

After hovering for a moment, the disc began to drift away slowly, then picked up speed and vanished into the treetops on the other side of the hill. Later that night, however, after my mother and stepfather returned home and we had dinner, I went to bed in my trailer. Around 2 or 3 AM, I was jolted awake by a loud mechanical whirring sound. I opened my eyes, flat on my back, and thought my parents were arguing. But then I realized I couldn’t move. Panic set in as I sensed a presence in my room, and I could feel the trailer just slightly vibrating. Dim light from the other trailer illuminated the space through my window – just enough for me to see something moving in my peripheral vision.

Overwhelmed with fear, I screamed silently in my head because I couldn’t vocalize. I kept screaming in my head cause I wanted my Mom. Suddenly, I felt as if my body “unlocked,” and I shot up, panting in terror. I saw something dart into my dresser, (yes INTO) and I started to panic whimper/cry cause I didn’t know what was going on and really wanted my mom. As I sat there, I caught a glimpse of a curved face with a bulbous eye—like a grey about 3 feet tall—peering out at me from the dresser.

I could barely make out features but it was clearly there. Like I scared it or something. It was so freaky. In sheer panic, I leaped out of bed and bolted through the front door, sprinting outside to the back door of mother’s bedroom in the dark. The light went out on my parents trailer. Scared me even more. I kept glancing back but could not see in the dark very good. I saw nothing. I pounded on the door, screaming to be let in. My mom eventually opened the door, confused, and I dove past her into bed between her and my stepfather, completely terrified.

Interestingly, my sister had a Sasquatch encounter on our property, when she moved back from SD – and we both experienced strange occurrences there that I now associate with Sasquatch activity after listening and learning from your show. I’m relieved to live in the Bay Area now, as I’m genuinely afraid to be in the woods at night, especially if it’s way out in the boondocks.”
