Biologist John Bindernagel’s discovery

John A. Bindernagel is a wildlife biologist who has sought evidence for Bigfoot since 1963.

He published a book in 1998 entitled North America’s Great Ape: the Sasquatch.

Bindernagel grew up in Ontario, attended the University of Guelph, and received a PhD in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He moved to British Columbia in 1975 largely because the region was a hot spot for Bigfoot sightings. Over the years, he has collected casts of tracks that he believes belongs to Bigfoot.

He also claims to have heard the creature near Comox Lake in 1992, comparing its whooping sound to that of a chimpanzee. Bindernagel believes that the Bigfoot phenomena should receive more attention from serious scientists, but has remarked, “The evidence doesn’t get scrutinized objectively. We can’t bring the evidence to our colleagues because it’s perceived as tabloid.”

From what I have observed regarding Dr. B. over the years, he is extremely sincere about his passion for getting to the truth regarding Sasquatch. He has stuck his neck out for decades doing what he believes in, only to take lashings from the vast majority of his peers. Thanks to scientists like Dr. B. and Dr. Meldrum we are able to learn so much about this creature. I am glad for the research they do in the field and respect them for hanging in there. Those other scientists should stop criticising from the safety of their books, labs and government grants and go out in the bush for a few days with Drs. Bindernagel and Meldrum. But of course, they are not about to risk their precious reputations searching for a creature that “does not exist.”

Fascinating! Science hangs out to dry those in the field who ride the point. It is extremely difficult to go against convention despite the fact that that is where knowledge and discoveries are made. Until those riding the point can gather, themselves, considered creditable data, they stand alone and often ostracized. Being a PH.d is not for the faint. Less educated folks can’t even begin to wrap their minds around such a heady situation ( I count myself in this category). It’s difficult to the point of determining the philosophical properties necessary to comprehend the reasons it takes to create a paradigm shift. That’s heavy shit! It’s too bad us amateurs can’t seriously help in this process. I guess the more people who see BF and talk openly and honestly about it might be the best effort we can do to help. Keep riding the point DR Bindernagle and Dr Meldrum, lots of us are behind you!
