Wow, I don’t live very far from where this happened, scary! What’s worse is my boys and I spent a week at a Boy Scout camp that’s even closer and we all slept in hammocks. I heard tree knocks one night at about 1 am and dismissed it as kids fooling around, but it was only three knocks and that was it. The scout leader asked me if I heard someone walk by our camp on another night, which I had not. The road was caliche and he heard the small rocks crunch beneath the steps.
