Bigfoot in Alice, Texas?

ALICE -Bigfoot, otherwise known as Sasquatch, has been a topic of discussion for more than 400 years. Sightings of the elusive creature have reached the thousands, and many of those reports have come from Texas in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

The myth is still making news today. Now tales that a large hairy creature is roaming the South Texas brush area, frightening unsuspecting visitors in Alice, Texas.

For the last several years, residents in this small town off Highway 44, say they’ve been hearing strange sounds coming from the brush area on the 247 acres of Lake Findley.

The Alice Police Department has patrolled the lake area but have come up empty-handed. After hearing rumors of the beast in the Jim Wells County area, South Texas Bigfoot investigator Gabriel Guerrero came to investigate the lake.

“I started the South Texas Bigfoot Investigations to bring the Bigfoot/Sasquatch subject to light. Also, to help Bigfoot witnesses cope with their sighting or event. We are not crazy, there is just crazy stuff out there. We know that something has been through here in the past couple of months,” said Guerrero.

“We’ve all heard the stories. But I can assure you, whether or not you believe in Bigfoot is the last thing on my mind, because I have seen one,” said Guerrero.

In 2012 Guerrero started traveling the country in hopes to see Bigfoot. During his travels, he has met and interviewed many individuals who have claimed to encounter the hairy legend wandering about.

Those who cross the hairy creature almost immediately notice a profound difference in size to that of a human. The overall massiveness of the creature, which is hard for witnesses to put in proportion, makes up the powerful build that many witnesses report. Others report a malodorous smell permeating in the air. Most describe their first impression of the beast as undeniably human-like. Bigfoot is said to have human-like facial features and expression and is capable of walking upright.

“My overall trips in the brush area have led me to believe Bigfoots have traveled thru Lake Findley consistently. It is a large water source for this area, believe through other witnesses that Mathis has a probable chance for same. The last event was about 2 months ago, a person on canoe told me about something large breaking trees, branches….It was not deer, hogs, or human. The witness did not
have a good visual, but it spooked him pretty good,” said Guerrero.

The South Texas investigator found what he believed to be several good-sized footprints in a clearing by the lake. So he set up a perimeter, hung microphones and strapped infrared motion sensor cameras to the surrounding trees. Regardless of what you want to call the creature, Guerrero says he truly believes that a species exists that is so smart and that has adapted so well to the arrival of human population, that it has become an expert at avoiding detection and capture.

“My goal is to take the myth, the legend, a folklore and bring it to reality. People have seen something out here, and how can all these people be wrong? You can even say there is something wrong with us? But, you never know,” said Guerrero.
