Bigfoot Film from 1962

The Sasquatch Archives writes “Evening Magazine—In Search of Bigfoot is likely from 1979, based on a few factors. This segment features “onetime” Deputy Sheriff of Siskiyou County Charles Edson.

Interestingly, there is some footage shown in the segment that I don’t believe has ever been seen any where else but on this program. Charles Edson also authored a book in 1979 titled My Travels With Bigfoot.”

(New Jersey) Very Interesting! I’ve never seen this video. Great find Wes! One interesting point- Charles felt that Sasquatch was a vegetarian. Almost every researcher/enthusiast seems to feel they are omnivorous.

I also have never seen this, and Charles Edson is new to me. However, he seems like the real deal. There is another film I watched yesterday, just released by Todd Prescott’s website “Sasaquatch Archieves” with about a 15 minute or more interview with one of the audience interview shows that were famous in the 1980s. They were really respectful to Charles and well worth watching. As for the film, some of the still shot outtakes are interesting. I am wondering if anyone ever tried to clear the film up a bit.

A great interview might be this Todd Prescott. He was heavily involved in the Sasquatch field way back into the last century and new most of the players. He could bridge the then to now.

That one shot of Bigfoot where it looks enormously wide and it’s head is sitting right on it’s shoulders is convincing enough. The guy thinks they’re herbivores and quit carrying his rifle made me wonder if he’s still alive.

(New Jersey) One other thing. The forest where this was filmed looks almost identical to the area where Paul Freeman took his video. I believe they were both taken in similar areas in California, so I guess it makes sense.
