In this episode, join Matt and Daryl for an update on the North American Wood Ape Conservancy’s field work in Area X. Guests include NAWAC Chairman Mike Mayes and Bud Mellicker, who have just returned from deploying an extensive camera-trap array dubbed “Hadrian’s Wall” by the NAWAC. Also, Dusty Haithcoat returns, along with his friend Ashlee, to talk about their visual encounter with a big gray sasquatch on the periphery of our base camp at the end of May.

Hadrians Wall…Hadrians Wall
Celia
Love your avatar, Lisa! ????????
John A
The squatches will find any weak spots in the wall, once the first camera is ripped down physically or other they’ll walk right through.
That’s my thoughts on it at least, I’ve not listened yet but working on it.
Thanks wes!

Dang! Didn’t know commenting would restart the cast. I normally download first but no option today, guess I’m to early for that?
Oh well……

So. When/if they become recognized by the powers that be, and their habitat is formulated and they are protected, that means that large areas of N. America will be set aside so they can live, feed and propagate.
Ahhh…here is the problem: will they have humanoid status? Can they be hunted like any other mammal to keep their population under control due to their “set aside” habitat areas? What is the moral ramifications of killing a humanoid/ape? The world does not do that with Gorillas or any other “ape” that I know of, so how are the powers that be going to “manage” them? Through sterilization after capture? ???????

They are already overpopulating and causing problems…or is it we are overpopulating and encroaching upon them?
WHO if any, has the superiority of specie rights to survive or thrive to enable our sense of safety when we travel in the natural world?
Celia
Man’s perception of himself as superior to all other species is what has driven many to extinction. There are no easy answers to these questions. And, until the species is recognized, there can be no legal, practical, or ethical answers to them. You have to start somewhere.

Are these researchers assuring that there are no smells on these cameras? Sasquatch have been reported to smell one touch on a tree by us. ??
