The acclaimed filmmaker, whose latest release Disclosure Day is currently drawing audiences to theaters, has shared his thoughts on the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
Given the number of alien-themed films Steven Spielberg has directed throughout his career, it is hardly surprising that he has followed developments surrounding UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena with great interest.
From benevolent visitors to menacing invaders, his depictions of extraterrestrials have spanned a wide range of possibilities, captivating generations of moviegoers and shaping popular culture’s view of life beyond Earth.
So what does Spielberg personally think about the prospect of aliens visiting our planet? In a recent interview with CBS News, the director revealed that he remains very open to the idea.
“Based on the circumstantial evidence of everything that I’ve gathered throughout my whole life, everybody I’ve listened to and every documentary I’ve ever watched and all the testimonies in Congress that I’ve heard, I absolutely think that they have been here, and they are here,” he said.
“And who knows, maybe they’ve always been here.”
The director also noted, however, that despite being an “ambassador” to aliens through his movies, he hadn’t actually encountered any extraterrestrials himself.
“I deserved a sighting,” he said. “And I need a sighting. I mean, I’m an ambassador of these guys and they haven’t shown themselves to me. I don’t get that.”

Im not sure what Mr. Spielberg knows or thinks he knows. Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind was a blockbuster movie, and one of my all time favorites. One does not produce such a movie on a whim. He surely studied this topic a lot.
