A Large Creature Spotted in Illinois

jesse_Sasquatch-photo_thMr. Kern is a married, ex-military man who presently lives in Illinois near Mt. Carmel. The sighting took place September 12, 2013, approximately 3:30pm. Weather was sunny and clear. The place where the sighting took place is Bealls Woods State Park, nearest the town Keensburg, population about 200 people. Park is described as small, maybe 25 acres. Surrounding areas are described as rural, with abundance of corn and soybean fields. Mr. Kern was walking alone with his dog down a trail near a gully. All animal sounds came to a halt, and his dog behaved aggressive and agitated. Approximately 15 feet from Mr. Kern was an upright, shadowy figure, described as about 10 1/2 ft tall and approximately 50in. wide.

He could see the figure from the hip up. The only features he saw on the face were large, dark puckered lips and green, human-like eyes. The large figure motioned to turn away. Mr. Kern picked up his dog and backed away from the figure. He stated that at no time did he feel threatened, but became uncomfortable and left.

This is pretty close to Kentucky. It is on the Wabash River, on the other side is the southwestern corner of Indiana. Beall Woods is the only significant patch of near-virgin forest left in Illinois. The trees are so tall that you can’t identify the leaves from the ground, you really have to know your bark to ID the trees. The woods are continuous along The Wabash, and a sasquatch could cross the river and. along waterways, reach the Hoosier National Forest under almost continous canopy. It is 40 miles south to the Shawnee National Forest in Illinois–I wonder how long it would take a 10.5-foot squatch to cover that distance?
