A big hairy arm came through the window

A listener writes “Hi Wes, when my mom and her sister were kids in the 1950’s living out in the country in a small one story house they shared a room with one window and one night they had the window open and a big hairy arm came through the window scaring them.

When I was a little kid in the late 1960’s whenever I stayed at my grandparents house which was the same house where my mom had her encounter.I slept on the couch which they didn’t have curtains on the windows it was terrifying I could hear something by the house but couldn’t see it. I would lay facing into the couch hoping whatever it was would go away.

In 1979 my mother, brother and I would go looking for deer when she pulled up to the stop sign and on the right hand side my brother was looking at something not far away from us I noticed he was staring intently and looked his way and saw a creature stand up and walk away from us turning its head and looking at us. It had dark hair and was very tall. This incident was not far from my Grandparents house.

Another weird incident happened in 1996 I was living in upper Michigan in a trailer that was on the back of our 20 acres with my husband and 2 daughters. One night my daughters were sleeping in the living room it was a warm summer night and the 2 windows were open with screens and during the night they came running in our bedroom saying a raccoon was tiring to get through the window so we went and looked and didn’t see anything and we went back to bed. I realized the next day that there was no way a raccoon could do that as our window was 9 feet up and we had metal siding. Not sure what it was.”

Those monsters must think of Humans as small little badgers that can fight to the death, otherwise- why don’t they just come in and take what ever they want?

My opinion is that it is either instinct or learned behavior to not attack humans unless necessary. We posses the greatest threat to them. Their have been quite a few hominid relatives of ours over that past hundreds of thousands of years and every dang one of them is gone except for us and the Forest Giants.

Sure wish more writers would list the location, at least state and county.

I think Charles R makes an excellent point. I think they are capable of thought and know when and how to interact with humans. I also think they identified very quickly the vast difference between the native Americans and the ‘white anglo saxon’ when Europeans began to appear on the continent. I think they realised very quickly we were much, much more dangerous to them and their existence than the native peoples ever would be.
I think they are curious and benign because they know it would be obvious to us that they are around if they mindlessly attacked and killed. Maybe the disappearances, abductions and the intimidation of a lot of peoples houses etc happens only when they know that they have all the advantages and are unlikely to be blamed?.
They likely realised very early on that the fate of the Indians would definitely be their own fate if they were not to be very clever and plan a survival strategy for their species and that openly attacking and killing would be the seed of their own doom?.

The location is northeast Wis. and Menominee county in Michigan.
My sister sent this in she is starting to get nervous because the snow is melting so the Sasquatch activity will start to increase on her property. They pound on the side of her house at night and tap on her windows. She has a dog leash anchored out side of her house so she can snap the chain on her dogs before letting them out at night. one night something pulled the dog chain from the outside until the clasp got stuck on the door.
