Jeremiah writes “I’ve had two experiences that both I and my friends believe may have been Sasquatch/Bigfoot encounters.
First Encounter – July 2025
My first encounter involved myself (originally from Missouri, now living in Arkansas), my friend Nacho (Jacob, from Mississippi), and our other friend Torin (from Missouri). It took place near Neosho, Missouri.
Nacho and I have been interested in Bigfoot and other cryptids since we were kids. One night, after spending most of the day playing video games at Torin’s house, we jokingly decided around 10:30 PM to go “squatch hunting.” Torin wasn’t interested in going because he had a bad migraine, but we eventually convinced him to come with us.
We headed to Fort Crowder Conservation Area, a large wooded area near Neosho. Once there, we experienced several strange events. We had rocks thrown in our direction, heard what sounded like ground pounds, and could hear something moving behind us on the trail as well as around us in the woods. At one point, the same thing produced a deep, low rumbling growl that almost sounded like a stomach growling.
The most unsettling moment came when trees were knocked down in front of us, effectively blocking our path and preventing us from going any farther. As we retreated, more rocks were thrown at us. Throughout the entire experience, the woods were unnaturally quiet there were no insects, no wildlife sounds, nothing.
The following night, Nacho and I returned to the area, this time approaching from the opposite side. Since it was only the two of us and we were honestly pretty nervous after the previous night’s events, we decided to stay close to the car.
After arriving, we stepped out briefly and Nacho made a few calls. Not long afterward, something very close by responded by smacking a tree on his side of the vehicle. A little later, I repeatedly heard something moving around on my side of the car.
We were recording the entire time, and later, when reviewing the footage, we noticed things we hadn’t picked up on in the moment. My recording captured the tree knock very clearly, while Nacho’s recording contained a distant whoop that neither of us had noticed while we were there.
Second Encounter – November 2025
In November 2025, Nacho, our friend Caleb (from New York), and I decided to spend two days and one night investigating the Honobia area of Oklahoma. We had been listening to Episode 11 and realized how close Nacho and I were to the location of the Honobia Siege, which motivated us to make the trip.
Caleb and I met Nacho at the main store in town, where we got a campsite and spoke with some locals. We spent most of the day driving around the area, exploring and looking for signs of activity, but we didn’t encounter anything unusual.
That evening, we returned to camp, settled in, cooked some great food, and climbed into the tent. Like most guys in their twenties, we ended up reading Bigfoot stories on Reddit and talking late into the night.
About thirty minutes later, we heard something approach our tent on what sounded like two feet. When we stopped talking and listened, the footsteps immediately stopped. A few moments later, we heard two rocks clack together somewhere in the nearby river.
We started talking again, and shortly afterward the footsteps resumed. Once again, we went quiet, and once again the movement stopped. This time we heard two distinct rock clacks one from the river close to our campsite, and another from much farther away, roughly a quarter mile downstream.
There was a lot more that happened during both encounters than what I’ve described here. I’ve left out many details simply because there is so much to tell, but these were the major events that stood out the most.”

I drive through Neosho often going to and from Salem, Mo to Fayetteville/ Ft. Smith my home area. Moved to Dent Co Mo in 2023. I am told there is plenty of activity in and around Rolla, Mo. I live near where Miguel of you tube sasquatch fame lives.

I think we might need to change the name of this channel to “People who scare the shit out of themselves in the woods chronicles”.
Lisa B
Wahoo Wes! ♥️
gordo i
so this chainsaw fart…
what type of chainsaw we talking here?
– full throttle/wide open
– revving cycles
– bogged dowm/under-load
what kind of pants did he have on?
– tight pants
– jean shorts from the 80’s
– parachute pants
was this a “fast food” induced flatulence? sounds like it could have been “wendy’s”?
the more we can dial in the details, the more we can learn about this encounter…
Janetta V
We do need details from these teeny boys.
m99
OMG. Well, you dialed it in alright. I was coming back to see if anyone got the answer but really didn’t want to ask. So, thanks for asking! _m99

Wes, I am sorry for your loss of your good friend and our loss as a community of a good person in the Podcast world. Maybe through sharing his Heart story other people will be saved. Pass out, get help immediately, go to good Doctor fast and save a life.

about the story…the story is so real, I can absolutely see guys I knew doing what these guys “owned” up to, definition of FAFO. I admire their courage for going public for being comically “young goofballs” and thankful they lived to tell their tales. The comments are hilarious and put words to some of my thoughts.
Imaging the screaming for “keys” inside the Kia Soul while a Bigfoot stands there and shakes his head..behind the bush. I bet the tribe had a good laugh over chasing them in deeper and then back out. Maybe the wildflower match in the tree meant they made a friend….and why the fellas didn’t “disappear”.

Enjoyed this show while I made 16 Pita bread loaves in my cast iron skillet for Mediterranean lamb & beef kabobs were having tomorrow night for dinner. Living in Alabama near Little River Canyon I sometimes think what it would be like to hike remote trails just to see whats up in the woods. Then I think I’m just to comfortable in my home to run out and do that crap, Lol. It’s more fun to listen to other peoples testimonials. Shoot I have to turn the light on when I sit out on the front step at night after listening to the Chronicles, I sure as hell don’t need to be running around in the woods at night looking for a 9 ft tall 600 lb. legend. Creepy, creepy, Creeeeepy. When I was a teenager in the 80’s my brother and I trapped for furs and would go out in the woods to check traps at 4:30 in the morning before going to school. At least we were armed. I was entertained listening to this show from the comfort of my kitchen. Always looking forward to more.

Great news on the improvements to the app. It’ll make a huge difference to be able to listen through a streaming service. Thanks for thinking of our listening experience. It’s appreciated. Much love from the UK

I’m so sorry for your loss, Wes. I’ve listened to the Paranormal Portal podcast a few times, and Brent seemed like a good guy, for sure. He’s going to leave a big hole in your life; I can hear the grief in your voice in the tribute you’re giving here. I hope kindness and support find you in the days to come.
m99
~ I loved Brent and his easy ways. He was an excellent music writer too. I hope his son keeps the show going. Yeah, Wes, sorry for your loss too_m99

It’s definitely a vast and unpopulated piece of land, now posted with a lot of No Trespassing signs AND BLOCKED OFF with concrete baracades except for the trail areas. 20 years ago, it used to all be open, especially the actual old Fort Crowder area. It was originally a WWII fort where prisoners of war where taken. Now there’s a semi ghost town back there and a very old cemetery. Old farms where originally taken and now they just sit unused and abandoned. The area of the trails is off one side of a much larger area. No one goes back in the No Trespassing area anymore (behind an old Rocketdyne plant is one area) but we used to hike back there. There are roads and old farm houses too from what I’ve heard. But never been at night…

Sorry lol I gotta say it — as someone that’s suffered from actual severe migraines for almost 40 years (since I was a kid) — if the guy telling the story said his friend had a migraine but they forced him to go — he didn’t have a migraine he had a bad headache. Yes massive difference.
Your vision is impaired….for me my face arms hands tongue all goes numb…head feels like a hammer is driving into it…yeah he had a headache.
But beyond that good encounter story… Thanks for sharing.
Rachelle B
what the fuck Wes. so you just waited till Brent dies to steal his thunder for that interview? that pissed me off. what a douche move. “I didn’t want to take credit for Brent getting that interview cause that’s what good friends do. So instead I’ll just take credit posthumously.” seriously Wes, take a minute and really think about what you did here and what your motivations were.
Nonnie C
Hard to listen to, sorry. Chatty boys.
