Why Do You Feel Like You’re Being Watched?

SciShow Psych writes “Sometimes it just feels like someone is staring at you, even if you can’t see them. It can be annoying, but our brains have a reason for it.”

I always think of a story my grandfather told me about walking a remote part of the Florida swamps. Something immediately told him to turn around. When he did, the biggest snake he had ever seen was hanging from a tree (at eye level), about a foot from his face. He still says how weird it was that something inside him alerted him of that danger.

That’s creepy Denise! I don’t buy all of what this guy is saying. I think there are true situations where we feel we are being watched, or somethings not right within our environment because our body is alerting us of a danger. Like a creepy snake or a creepy person, something in us knows!
